The Canadian GDP was 5th worst in the OECD last year up from 3rd worst the year before. MS Freeland uses her own stats. Based on the G7 but where she gets the determinants are on a I'll pickem basis.

Actually doing nothing actually makes more sense because of basic math. At 1.6% of GHG production, nothing Canada does will have any significant impact on temperature increase. The 3rd decimal place of a degree. Meanwhile China’s growth alone over 14 months equals Canada’s annual production. So if human activity is the leading cause of climate change, expect a disaster by the end of the century. Our efforts are just irrelevant. Mental masturbation! If we are to invest huge dollars, it should be on mitigating the effects of climate change. China, India and Russia obviously don’t consider climate change an existential threat.
