Based on true events. These are tough times for journalists, who are working under conditions that seem to get worse and more dangerous every year. And yet they are still capable of unearthing stories like the abuse and corruption that was rampant at a for-profit residential care home, which inspired filmmaker Lawrence Kan Kwan-chun's new film In Broad Daylight. Rather than focusing on the scandal itself, he decided to look at the reporters who broke the story, in the vein of Spotlight and All the Presidents' Men.
