It’s the most talked about thing all over social media and all over KZread and everybody’s doing your reaction to it. It’s so great. The kills are awesome and you won’t believe the ending of the fan film so will you guys do a reaction to it? If so, when is it happening? When are you guys going to do it and are you guys going to do it and will you guys going to do it? And when is the video going out?

It came out two weeks ago
I just got back from the movie, and it was fine. I’m happy I saw it, but aside from the cinematography nothing about it stood out. The kills were good and it was well made, but I never felt like “this is a great movie” despite my enjoyment.
It's a strange strategy Cotton, let's see how it works out for him!!!!!
I saw this movie two days ago without seeing or hearing any of the marketing and i just wanted a fun slasher film and was beyond pleasantly surprised that the movie followed the killer and not the victims. my only real complaint is how the last leg of the movie follows the survivor's perspective and the ending really drags. Other than that this movies was the best surprise of the year for me.
I can understand this not making any new fans of the genre, however as a Jason fan and lover of the Friday the 13th game, this tickled my want for another Jason project. This was really fun. 7/10
"You eat pieces of sh*t for breakfast?" 😂😂
Damn, awesome review. Summed it up perfectly. I really enjoyed this movie. I think despite the gorey killings, it had a phycological twist. Something about the slow, methodical, almost machine like steps, followed by human/ animal like killing, really had me on the edge of my seat. Unlike most of the others in my theatre, I think the slow progression actually helped set the physiological stage. Anyways, as said before, great review.
Just saw it and felt the repetitive nature a lot. A cool premise that would make a great 30 min short film, but couldn’t carry an hour and half for me.
I enjoyed the film I loved the kills! Great atmosphere and nods to the 80s. That being said I wouldn't have minded cutting about 20 minutes off this between the ending and Johnny's walking. But overall I enjoyed it, glad I supported it and plan on seeing it again before it leaves theaters.
Should of been called, a walk in a violent nature. 😂 I dug it tho, I look forward to the spoiler review. There was a few couples that walked out, one was after the yoga scene 💯

Awesome non spoiler review! I enjoyed the film very much. I can definitely see what your saying on how long they focused on the killer. Some of those shots felt long and they could have trimmed time with some simple edits. I hope this film makes a lot of money to show Victor Miller & Sean Cunningham that their F13 lawsuit is ridiculous....you can have a killer in the woods and have all the tropes and similarities of Jason and not get caught with all the legal mumbo jumbo. 💪
I’ve been curious about this movie. I love your reviews Mike and I always trust your opinion.
10:12 Never Hike Alone series is good too
Omg, did you drop a Newt from Aliens reference? 🤞😂 Looking forward to seeing this one… the killer looks awesome!

I thought it was a good movie, despite all the bad reviews. It was more or less like a re-imagining of the first film. I enjoyed it though. Better than Prey at night.
Overall, I give it an 8 out of 10. I liked it, but I had a few complaints. 1. The acting was so bad at points. But I think I know what was going on with the casting... I think they didn't care who they hired because the movie mainly followed the killer, so additional characters didn't need Oscar-winning performances because this was legit just a Friday the 13th movie focused on the kills... and walking. 2. The ending was drawn out way too much for me. It felt like they tried to make the movie last an hour and a half but didn't have the material to do so, so they included a lengthy monologue that serves no purpose other than to draw a comparison between a rogue, feral animal and Johnny (the killer), which was all summed up by the line they used the monologue to get to, "Animals have no sense of reason." 3. The monologue and the ending. I think the movie would've ended better if it was condensed to the survivor girl making it out of the forest, scarred and teetering on the brink of insanity, and she is rescued by the random driver. They could've ended on her hearing a noise in the trees and turning in fear.

To be fair though with the actors part, this is supposed to be based off of an 80s slasher go back to all of those films in those days Most of the acting from half the cast was kind of shitty
I KNEW. People were gonna dislike either the Movie or the Ending. DEFINITELY not for everyone. And I’m saying that because it doesn’t have much “Action”.
Can’t wait for your spoiler review to discuss that last 10 mins. I personally feel it dropped it down a notch from amazing to just really really good

Fuck em. Arts still the GOAT, and he still has 3 movies under his belt with a 4th on the way. He's got fanart a fanbase, halloween costumes, and people clamoring for more. I feel like once your look starts popping up at spirit halloween you've essentially made it by horror standards😂. A modern icon thru and thru
You ALWAYS thought something was going to happen. The campfire scene, was the most unsettling thing.
Whoooooweeee what a way to start a Saturday 🔥
Solid 7.5 for me. The tension was great, and like yourself i felt some editing and changes to the end couldve bumped it significantly. All together a fun night at the movies, im curious to see what happens with the franchise

To me this movie feels like the first Terrifier not because of the kills. Because it has such great potential to be a franchise and new horror icon. Definitely has it's faults and some cheesy dialog/acting at times. There's a lot to love tho.

I may spoil, so beware reader of this comment. Stop here unless you have seen the movie. This is a great review. It is right on point. SLOW burn of a movie, for sure. Still glad it exists. The deer story almost put me in a coma though. Yes, I agree with your synopsis, esp the video game quality "follow walk", which happened too often and could have been edited. For me, the money shot was the full killer's face. I did not expect that. The mask will become iconic, I hope.

The yoga kill was quite inventive, but other than that I got the sense that it was trying to be a highbrow Friday the 13th and missed the mark. By the time of the ranger's scene and the monologue in the van, the movie was just wanking itself off and I was ready to go home.
I’m seeing this movie in a few days I can’t wait
Can confirm, there are many "stow sleps" in this movie 😂 I also totally agree with you that the movie could have been ATLEAST 15 min shorter. I think that would have made the movie alot less monotonous in the last 30 min. Cause at that point i just like "okaaaay we get it" and wanted it to be over. When its good, its awesome! But yeah. This isnt Dune pt 1" slow",if that makes sense. i loved dune 1. And i know, TOTALLY DIFF TYPES OF MOVIES. But i was never bored in the 2h 35 mins of dune. I was in this 1hr 34 movie. So that def says something about the pacing. This is all my opinion though. Its got a couple gnarly unique kills for sure haha! At the very least id say wait until its on shudder.
This is one of the most mix feelings i have had in a movie, because as a movie it isnt good but i recommend people to watch it. Im glad it was made but its like what Blair witch for found footage. Glad its the first of its kind but it will definitely be done better later. Glad they made it but im ready for the cloverfield progression of this idea.
The opening and ending sequences were both painful as hell to get through. Kills were really cool, I like the concept of the killer himself, but nothing else really worked for me
i have to wait 6 weeks for it to be released in the uk
Did you watch cody leach's review... curious on your thoughts
I can’t wait to get the chance to finally watch this movie just the simple fact the whole movie is about a Slasher POV gets me even more hype and such a refreshing concept. Also this is sadly close to a Friday the 13th movie we getting in awhile it’s like the people behind the scenes don’t want money at all.

I think the Terrifier set the bar for kills in a slashers movie, and how they are.I think that is why people are comparing the kills to it…
The best things were following Johnny and the kills. The worst thing is the ending. The last 15 minutes. I had moments that it was boring, but it was entertaining to me.
the yoga kill is engraved in my mind 🤣 me and my friend were so noisy in the theater lol I feel like a sicko for wanting it to have been more violent? & I wish it at least had music during the long walks

@@WeWatchedAMovie just got out of it. I am pleased 😀 If there's more they can only improve like that Die'Ced movie. That's what I heard about it. I'm watching that later today. If there's a IAVN 2 I'm there
I think you nailed it with the video game aspect. It's fine in say Red Dead Rédemption when walking around because you are controlling the character Seeing a character walk doesn't work all the time, as you say moderation
2:01 Industry term for this is “shoeleather”. More professional productions/editors will cut out that “shoeleather” filler to do exactly what you’re talking about: improve the pacing. In small doses, shoeleather can establish tension or convey specific character details, but on the whole, it should be removed so as not to interfere with the forward momentum of the storytelling.
One of the reasons why people don’t like this movie is the genre cliches and the slow pace. But these elements are necessary for the directors vision. You Can’t see things from the perspective of the killer if you don’t indulge the typical genre cliches. Thats whats so brilliant. We don’t have to wonder “how did the killer teleport over there? Thats so unrealistic.” We just get to see it unfold and it turns out he really was just walking and timing everything perfectly🤣 thats what makes the theme of this movie so charming. You need cliches if you’re trying to flip them on their head
I love it, did exactly wht i thought it would do. Ill say this tho, uve seen a lot of kills, but this move shown me one i never seen😂😂😂.
Im an 80's kid, I liked it.
I haven't seen the movie yet... But, based on what you said, I don't think this can become a significant franchise... Because it sounds like it would have to be a whole different kind of movie... I can't think of any successful franchises in which the original is a totally different movie than the rest of the movies in the franchise...
Everyone, including me, mentions the ending and how it is confusing or bad. …and that is it. They don’t explain why or ponder the intent. Probably because modern audiences and slasher movies are conditioned to be fed every detail. In reality…anyone surviving a visceral and horrific experience like that girl is going to be on edge forever. Constantly expecting Johnny to appear and finish what he started. I feel like that was partially what the ending was showing…trying to convey that experience to the audience. The problem is that it isn’t spelled out and spoon fed…so most people end up being pissed there wasn’t some ‘sexy’ finale and just leave it at that. While I’m not saying I love the choice…I appreciate the attempt. I hope people consider some of this prior to just crapping on the ending and leaving it at that.
Nobody can replicate that feel of Halloween 1 and 2 anymore. This movie just didn’t feel suspenseful like the trailer made it seem. It had a couple of decent ideas, but it just didn’t work too well. Im definitely a fan of slasher movies for everything but the kills. Sounds weird but I want the kills to be secondary to character building and atmosphere of the location
Ending ruined it for me. Like the last 15 mins

This movie left me wanting another Friday the 13 movie
Just finished watching a few hours ago and the kill you're referring to that might gross people out, I was the only one in the theater laughing. Granted, there were only 9 of us in the theater but I found some of the kills funny in a good way. I guess I'm far more of a sick individual than the other 8 people I was watching it with. I liked it, fun movie, not for everyone, can easily understand why some people might not like it, I also didn't like the ending. I didn't hate it but just felt really anti-climactic.
Just got back from this movie. I enjoyed it. Some good laughs, a bit slogged. Probably wouldn't watch it again but I liked it.
Def could use a re-edit/re-cut. Def the moments dragged a bit. Cool idea and a cool take on the typical slasher. I thought *spoiler the ranger kill was cool but wish he was alive yelling and screaming the whole time until his head cut off. That kill felt like one of those beheading videos on the dark web

Great video . I was not a fan of this movie, thought it was tedious and not entertaining. The kills were fun though
I mean, arguably Halloween is pretty slow but it's the content that elevates it to greatness. Time will tell how this holds up. Probably best to do a superior sequel though.

True but Halloween has such high tension once you realize Michael has locked in on Lori , I haven’t seen this yet but if that anxiety isn’t there due to lack of a final gal then it’s not going to hit the same
I loved the concept, reminded me of when I use to play Red Dead lol. However, it was suuuuuuper slow and they could have cut many parts yet still maintained the tension. And the ending was terrible, very predictable and disappointing. If that movie ended with a twist, it would be better received, despite the terrible acting and slow pace.

Yes the ending was pretty much teasing us with a jumpscare since there were ZERO actual jumpscares during the whole movie...so they make you wait, and wait and wait for that one jumpscare, but it NEVER comes. It's pretty smart
I love that they tried to do something new with this movie, but lord that ending dragged and was such a buzzkill.
Best to watch it while walking on a treadmill 😂
11:31 My god 🫦🫦
It's the first of its kind. Ofcourse a sequel can work out these other things everyone judging this like they went and made something new themselves. Love what they did. I get it, lots of walking. But finally a slasher where the director had some good cinematography. great first entry, lots of potential.
It was good for the most part , jus that ending for me didn't hit Also i kept making minion jokes about that mask lmao
Art vs Johnny should be a thing one day
The sequel should be in slomo with Zack Snyder 😍 directing
This should have been a short film. 30 minutes, tops. It was good...but it doesn't have enough juice for a feature film. The cinematography is amazing, the acting is BAD.

Long time no see. The pacing of the film is what fucks the film for me BUT I want a sequel with a different Director and writer. There is a horror Icon there and the ending is in fact shit. I think the bad acting is some kind of call back to the bad acting in The Friday the 13th films and they need to do something with the camp characters for the sequel. I need to rewatch this film still a good Sequel will might do it some good. There is alot of potential here but it needs to be harvest like a mother fucker.
