Same for me and the reason I learned to play guitar in the first place. I loved the tone of the guitars and had no idea it could be that interesting. 16 years later and I still love it.

I once arranged this into sheet music for clarinet and piano and played it in my senior recital in music school (sorry if I should've gotten permission first). My playing may not have done it justice, but having to transcribe it by ear made me greatly appreciate the genius behind its composition even more!

I feel that this song is single handedly responsible for a whole new generation of prog metal fans. Never heard anything like before Guitar Hero! This includes me, hats off to you guys!

My favorite track off GH3, and they had some crazy good music. What an immaculately written song.

Truly one of the greatest songs of all time. There is so much gold in this song, it doesn't miss. And the balance between the dirtiest chugs I've ever heard vs some of the most beautiful melodic portions and solos is excellent. And that "chaotic" section is glorious. Easily best Guitar Hero song of all time, forget Through The Fire And Flames (also great, but, come on, there's no competition). I can only just barely play the first main riff on real guitar, but it's probably my favourite riff to play, it's so fluid and natural.

This song is a gem, the bassline alone has given me hours of enjoyment and the tone they got on the recording of Impulse II is up there for best bass sound of all time imo.

It's really great to hear this song again since 2008, one of my favorites alongside 'Anything'. You guys have always been pioneers, thank you for that!

That sort of staccato rhythm at 38 seconds in lives rent free in my head since the first time I heard this song. How nice to hear a new live rendition!

The organ holds on that outro with the guitars over top is just killer. I remember thinking that (but not really understanding what was going on) when I first played Impulse on Guitar Hero waaaaay back when. 2:43 definitely the hardest part to play of the song, especially as a band. Took me the time it took me to learn the rest of the damn song to learn that little breakdown on guitar. I dont listen to a lot of instrumental music but yours is always fun to hear in rotation, ameliorate and everything that has followed are gold

Well this is a trip down memory lane! I remember buying their t-shirt when I was like 15 and it came packaged with a handwritten note from the band, I thought that was so cool! I will always be here for new AES releases 💟

Man, every few years when I hear this song I just appreciate it more and more. This is a prog masterpiece and the old school prog style sounds so refreshing after all the modern prog metalcore crap (which I love too).
