First of all, Happy Anniversary! A year of weekly broadcasts by Dr Cole Anderson has been a gift that has made every Friday seem like a Christmas Day where the present unwrapped has exceeded expectations and propelled us to a state of ecstacy! This upload is no exception and how wonderful to listen to such wise words when extolling the virtues of improvisation and having such inspiring examples from you, the master, to get the creative juices flowing! Creating music and performing music and listening to music are pleasures like no other. You are simply the best, Cole. Thank you!

Another amazing video that addresses an issue I've thought existed since my piano education in college. Thank you so much for this. Not only is the content valuable(maybe even more valuable than the semester of improv 1 on 1 lessons I've had) and inspiring to me as an advanced pianist, but it is something I feel comfortable and wanting to share with others who have expressed a desire to play the piano but do not know a motivating enough way to start and persist. Thanks again, and I've got to go try some of my own two-voice and simple chordal improv now!

Happy Anniversary, Cole! I'm happy to have found your channel - your weekly uploads are informative, educational, and on top of it they bring to many of us lots of enjoyment by your excellent performances! Today's topic is great, it's something I've always been interested in, but was hesitant (scared?) to learn. I've played music by ear, but when I would try to improvise, it always sounded primitive and even wrong, and I'd give up, thinking that I don't have this talent/imagination. Today, thanks to the internet, there are lots of videos, some of them are quite good, helping us, classically trained and never encouraged (or even discouraged by some teachers) to try this different way of discovering/making music. I'm so glad you encourage it, too! My feeling is that this is another skill that can be learned, with guidance, patience, and persistence. Thank you for showing the examples of improvisation and supporting this part of "adventures in good music"! I will certainly try this at home:-)!
