Absolutely spectacular design. I'm quite impressed with the cleanliness and cleverness of your optical layout. I'm flabbergasted by the optical mounts; are they custom-designed? You said in another video that you machined most of this, I'd love to see how you made the mounts, how they're assembled, how you adjust them, etc. Such phenomenal engineering. Just... wow...

Another great video. I really liked the more detailed description of the optics you provided this time. Have you considered doing a knife edge evaluation of the 520nm diodes? I would be very curious to see the affect of the color quality/ gamut of a 635/520/445nm RGB projector. Thanks so much for taking the time to document and share your work. You are great!

I would love to see some more videos about lasers and optics in general! Would be a bit like going back to the roots for you :)

which program can control the galvo scanner & laser??

Thanks for all the videos you provide, so far it was awesome. Quick question, for one of the red beams you use some optics to rotate a beam before it enters a cube, could you just rotate a diode to achieve the same result? Thanks

Yes.

Have you looked into or pp later with VCSELs? They seem to have promise for high power red wavelengths and good beam quality. Your thoughts?

VCSEL's have always offered the potential for large total power output from the large number of emitters. As distributed sources however, they would seem to be difficult to collimate into high power, narrow diameter beams.

What if I want to use a laser as an ambient light source, are they efficient?

They are indeed. Many are more efficient than the highest efficiency white light LEDs now available. But of course they are monochromatic. There are companies now distributing laser powered, fiber fed phosphor converted white light sources for very discrete, highly focus-able ambient lighting.

Raman spectrometer, please!
