    As a product designer and engineer, I really enjoyed this!! Hoping to get a Haas mill ourselves soon for prototyping and short runs. Awesome to see this guy doing the volume to justify having 7 and keeping it in-house and in America. Thank you!

    Great company with great products... Back in the early 2000's I used their mounts on my 91 CRX Si for a B18B1 swap and again on my 91 Civic Si for a B16A2 swap

    Brian is so chill. Six or seven years ago when they made the first ever J-series swap on KZread, i asked Brian if they were ever thinking about doing mounts for an MDX/RDX motor swaps and to my surprise he actually responded. It seemed like i gave him an idea but i don't think it was cost effective lol.

    Back in the mid 2000’s I was the wholesale parts manager at Falconi’s Acura in Vegas and would sell to these guys. I wanted their business so bad I gave them pretty much cost lol. I had a civic SI that was built and Brian actually sent me the set up he describes in the video where the side mounts were soft but the rear mount was a tad more stiff and it ended up being perfect for the street. I’m much older now and moved back to Cali but I just found a perfect condition virgin EG hatch I will probably do a K24/20 swap into and I’ll end up giving these guys a call for help on parts :)

    cnc? that's so inefficient and slow. he could cast the mounts out of aluminum and then finish them by hand on a manual mill and be able to produce 100s of them in a week. if he did lost foam casting he could make tons of them.

  • @Imaboss8ball

    most likely does billet because his consumers don't know any better.

  • @YowserUK

    @YowserUK

    7 жыл бұрын

    David Serrano compared to casting, CNC billet is stronger, more accurate and more asthetically pleasing. It also reduces the number of seperate manufacturing processes required and allows you to quickly introduce new designs. The downside is machine cost and material waste. Consumers will pay more for a CNC billet part than a cast part.

  • @azz187

    David Serrano it's about quality not quantity

  • @Imaboss8ball

    @Imaboss8ball

    7 жыл бұрын

    azz187 the quality would be the same if you cast first then finished on CNC the strength may be different but it doesn't have to be extremely strong. IMO they should focus on the best manufacturing process for the product they are producing. American businesses are closing shop because of china but yet they won't attempt to be competitive.

  • @davidl9410

    @davidl9410

    He said most of them come out of an extrusion and then finished on the mill. That's basically the same as casting, less of a bitch as well when it comes to consistency because he would probably have to hold them in a soft jaw.
