Improve Your Coordination Exercises

Do you have coordination problems that it is difficult for you to do your self care? If you want to improve your coordination then you need to watch this video.
You may not know that you have coordination problems but if you have Parkinson’s disease or other neurological disease, you may have noticed that you have difficulty performing every day tasks without stopping to think on the next step of the task that you have in front of you or that you have trouble in initiating a movement.
In this video we will do exercises that will improve your coordination so that you will do your day-to-day activities without having to think about each step.
Alternating shoulder shrugs -
Bring one shoulder up alternating with the other shoulder. Do this for 30 seconds
Arm swings- Swing your arm up high alternating with the other arm.
Shoulder touches- Touch your opposite shoulder and reach wide to the side alternating 10x.
Arms crossed - Touch the opposite shoulder of each arm and reach as wide as possible with both arms for 10 seconds and do this 10 times.
Forearm turning- first, put your arms out straight in front of you with palms facing up and then bring them facing down. Do this about 10 times. Next you’re going to put one forearm facing up and the other forearm facing down and you are going to turn them alternately for about 30 seconds.
Alternating opening and closing of hands- First open and close your hands 10 times at the same time. Next you are going to try to open one hand and close the other alternately for 30 seconds.
Knee highs- put your arms straight out in front of you and try to touch it when you were knees. If you are sitting down tried to touch your elbow were the same side knee but if you were standing up dried touch your hand or wrist with the same side knee.
Sqaure stepping- If you have square
tiles on the floor, you can use that as your guide for this exercise just follow the Borders of that tile. Make sure that you have a big square enough for you to have a big step. But if you don’t have that, get a tape and make a square on the floor and use that as a guide. We’re going to step on each corner tracing the shape first. Next we’re going to stab one corner to the opposite corner diagonally.
Striaght line walking- Find a spot in your house or outside that has a long straight line that you can walk safely on. Follow that line when you walk with your right foot first. Then when you turn around you follow that line with your left foot.

I really fall in love of your this great video exercises. Since as in Aug 2022, I consistently follow my exercises Malaysia Time Table as from: 6: 00AM, 9:00AM, 12:00NOON, 3:00AM and 5:00PM. My counting of your steps procedure are as from : 1 to 10, Repeat counting start from 2, 2 to 10, this way, no way I can lost counting. As for the diagonal stepping, I still find abit difficulty to manage. But I never give up. I stop when I feel like out of balance. My walking movements have been improved gradually and have confidence to climb up my staircase of 16 steps before I can go to my bedroom. Occasionally without holding the railing. A BIG THUMB UP AND THANK YOU. GOD BLESSED 👍

FYI, I love to feed back my FINAL comments today. I am really grateful I stumbled this video in July 2022. Your are incredibly a great occupational therapist. Doing this exercises consistently have great improvement of my moving activities. Time taken to complete the steps by steps gradually reduced from 15 minutes to 12 minutes. Only recently, I realised I am not able to buckle my bra well. Feeling abit hurt and pain in my right arm. I will start to do your other videos exercises like Hand Grip Exercises. Perhaps can help to strengthen my right hand stroke. Many thanks, most of your videos exercises, simple & easy to follow. Always looking forward and falling in love of your free therapies May God Blessed You Always.

fyi, I am doing this exercises consistently. As from the month of Dec 2022. I have reduced my number exercises. My Dec Malaysia Time Table : 10.00AM, 3.00PM 6.00PM. I increase tracing straight line walking, starting with right leg 20 steps and tracing back with left leg 20 steps. Repeat of same 5 rounds. Results : body energy movement improved excellently. Thank You. May God Blessed You In Good Health Always. Love & Enjoy watching all your videos exercises to have more knowledges, saved and share with friends anytime when needs arise.

I thoroughly enjoy your videos . I was wondering do you have or planning on making any videos regarding ways to eliminate foot drop for stroke patients? I am looking for ways to try to get my foot to lift when I’m actually walking if I’m sitting it can lift on my command and doing my exercises I can move it’s just when I’m actively walking and I still can’t convert it over so I’m looking for videos regarding this if you have or ideas. I know your a OT but I have seen your other videos on Waze to improve the leg and ankle
