Tara, you are a gift. You are providing in-home therapy to a group of people who really need/want it. Your finger’s on the pulse and you get what is needed. A THOUSAND TIMES THANK YOU !

Hi Umesh! I am so glad you found this one helpful!
Good explanation, but it'd be helpful to keep the diagram on screen when you explain the anatomy instead of just flash them and remove them before we could even settle our eyes on them. Why remove them so quickly ? Your hand gesture is good, but without the bones picture, it's much harder to understand. So I'd much rather look at the bones picture.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you so much for this video!!! Especially when you have explained ankle ways work and pictures!!! ❤️👍💯

Thank you for sharing these great videos!
Dr.Tobias You are a genius.
I finally got a chance to watch this video. I was excited about the topic when I first saw it last week. I’ve been more intentional about stretching my ankle recently, so I appreciate the instructions as well as the explanations on the ankle. Thanks!
Love watching your videos. Just got diagnosed with a glioma tumor which affected my left side of walking and strength. Currently working on improving my dorsiflexion
This is the needed videos for me ever
Dr Tara your each video is too much helpfull. Thanks too much
Thank you!!
thanks for this - can you do a part 2 for this where you go more and show more exercises and stretches
Great mobility
Good information
May God bless you for your good work
Crouch walking has helped me a lot. Especially walking on carpet. I previously had hip replacement surgery in 2019, in late 23, drop foot symptoms began. I didn't know what it was. The cause is still not known so I pick up tips from various videos.
Thank you so much 😊 thank you so much 😊 i ❤️ love ❤️ your videos 🙏
I’m amazed at the improvements I am getting already with this dorsiflexion technique. Does this help for tight calf muscles too? Are there other stretches for the calf? Thank you 😊
Thank you so much Dr Tara Tobias, it's so technical and very informative, I'm at same stage of restoring ankle dorsiflexion and tallus motions

Tara, I have had a terrible time finding a night brace for my foot. I had a stroke almost two years ago and still have a lot of spasticity. Thank you.
Awesome videos! The rationales, anatomy, and physics help me connect mind-body. And omg I’ve been doing this wrong for so long. When we register for the Q and A should we receive a confirmation? I didn’t and th k it may not have gone through…thank you
Your videos help me tremendously with my husband's recovery.

Hi Coley! thanks for watching! I am so glad you found this one helpful :)
As usual, great observation. I recently painted the fence and squatted a lot, which is tiring, but it is much easier for me to walk properly afterwards. It can always be fixed. Have a nice week.

Yes Darko!
I have bought an incline board to stretch the ankle, by standing on increasing the angle of incline progressing steeper over time. As for foot roll I would step on this board sideways. Timing usually 5 minutes daily. even for my advance stage. I hope this helps Dr. Tara
I love your content . I have a foot drop after L4-L5 disc . Your videos in that subject gave me so much Knowledge and i got so much better!! Thanks 🙏🏼 I wanted to ask you Lately I found out toes separator is really helping me walking and lifting my foot . Can you do a video about toe separator benefits . Thanks keep up the good work !! Hey Tara! Love your channel… I’ve had M.S since 16 but now at 47 find myself dealing with severe spasticity on the left side - mine is the opposite I hear ya mentioning (it’s backwards not forward) can you suggest anything to help to train it to point? I’m quite active & go to the gym quite regularly …. Heaps of hugs from London England 😘
Hello Dr. Tara. Thank you for this video. I am definitely going to try this as I feel I don't have the full range in my ankle after the stroke. I also have one more question which is about Toe curling. My 4 toes curl downward and the thumb remains neutral when I walk. This makes walking very difficult as I cannot land my foot flat on the ground. I've consulted multiple physiotherapists for this but sadly no one has been able to help me with this particular problem. I've regained almost full functionality of my affected leg but only the toes are still stuck. Could you please advise if the streches suggested in this video might help with my issue? And if you have addressed this particular issue in any of your other videos please link me to that video. Thank you!
Thank you mam🙏🏻 really very helpful 😊

Thank you for the very helpful video. I have MS and my left foot has difficulty with dorsiflexion when I walk. My PT told me it's due to spacticity. I wish I still lived in Orlando bc I have a hard time finding a Neuro PT In Brevard.

Thank you so much for all your videos! I had a stroke and watching you from Germany. I tried the exercise but my heel will lift up due to spasticity as soon as I pull back my leg? I would love to see you at some point of time…
Thank you for information. What exercises could i do to improve inward motion of my ankle. I seem to have very limited mobility when I try turn my ankle inwards it causes some pain if I try force it
I'm a full-time wheelchair user (via Friedreich's ataxia), so I liked what you demonstrated from the seated position. I've been working dorsiflexion after adopting some movements from Ben Patrick (KneesOverToesGuy). After your demo, I already feel and see increased ROM.

Many thanks for this comprehensive video. Interested to know whether this can be performed in the standing position with a bent knee and pushing the knee forward to flex the ankle. Recovering from a bilateral operation on L4 and L5 for drop foot where nerves have been compressed.

Thank you so much for this video😍my question is that how can we know that our spacticity is already healed ? And how many times should we do it in a day and for how long if we have 4 grade ankle spacticity?
Can you please tell me or make a video how to get sensation back in leg after spinal cord injury????
Hi dr.tara is this exercise is useful to fix foot inversion
Wow I am so thankful for this video, while I have been stretching the ankle for some time now. I find it very helpful to have an idea of what is going on with my ankle bones and muscles while doing so. Thanks to this video, I can imagine what is going on. Thank you

Thank you so much! This makes so much sense and I understand why I’ve been frustrated, as no pt has ever shown me anything remotely like this to help with dorsiflexion. Is this better to do without afo if I can safely?
@rehabhqofficial
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and for the question! If your afo is articulated (has a joint at the ankle) and there is a strap that goes over the top of the ankle, yes. The reason is that the strap will help to hold the talus in place so you can focus on the ankle stretch. I hope that helps!
I saw you do something with a black incline 15*. Stretching device. Because I walk on the outside of right foot. So, tell me which video it was, Thanks.u
Hi Dr. Tara. Thank you for another great video...I'm worried about my sister's ankle, I've been caring for her 3 days out of the week for about a year now. Her ankle has gotten worse, when I arrive to get her up, her foot is now flat to the left. She only wears her fol. a few hours when I'm there...what do I need for her to improve. Thank you for all your help, God Bless.

Hi Cindy! Thanks for watching and for commenting. Only way to prevent this from happening is to have the brace on during the day and the straps secured. When the brace is not on, use a night splint. I hope tha thelps!

Hello Tara, I have a question for you. How can I put my heel all the way gown when I try to put it in a brace? I have seen the improved ankle mobility video that we shouldn't force the foot. Please help me out, thanks.
I love this video Dr Tobias. I had back surgery about 6 weeks ago due to a slipped disc. After surgery I noticed that a lot of my drop foot symptoms had improved. I had problems with my dorsiflexion before my stroke. Nevertheless, I have very weak ankle and leg muscles due to inactivity. I am so excited in getting and applying these exercises to improve my gait. Thank you!!!!

EXCELLENT VIDEO DR. TOBIAS, I'M HEMEPLEGIC and suffers from SPASTICITY, this spasticity is impeding my progress to walk without a cane! i was considering tendon release surgery, what is your opinion, on TRS? MUCH APPRECIATED DR. TOBIAS!
Doc how about if i have the 10 degrees dorsi flexion but i have the weakness on muscle that lift the foot as you mentioned here in this video. do you have any exercise that helps to improve to active dorsiflexion? because that is my problem im a stroke survivor and i followed your ways to recover. i started with my hip, knee and now the ankle. thank you so much. i can now bend my knee im now focusing on ankle down to toes. so if you have any suggestion i would really appreciate it. or make a video about it for the rest that also needs the same. thankyou so much and God bless you doc.
I wish I could have seen the exact location of the Taylus bone without the sock.
excellent. in my personal experience dorsiflexion is something to work daily untill it becomes acceptable.

Hello maam My daughter is 3 years old and is limping on her left leg mainly due to ankle spasticity due to brain injury at birth . I have been following your videos recently and are quite helpful. Do you have a rehab centre where you see patients and where are you located? I would personally like to meet you.waiting for your kind reply. Thanks
please please respond. stroke 3 years ago, left side challenges but doing better. when I walk or jog, it always feels like I have to focus on keeping my toes upward/raised to avoid making floor contact too soon. Is this a dorsi flection issue, hip or knee coordination challenge? After I do knee raises with weight, my walking feels better. just not sure if a hip, knee or dorsi issue?
Nice. Is wall stretching ok?

Stretching tight muscles will never help in leg it term. Spasticity is when the opposite muscle is overactive and the other is weak/ paralyzed. After stretching the brain will ever more contract. So the only solution is to improve the weak connection.... or living forever with the ‚crippled ‚ illness.
