We both went through some hard times, but during our divorce, we both found the Lord. So now we are getting to know each other all over again this time with Christ in the center of our friendship. even though we’ve known each other for 30 years, we are getting to know each other all over again. by the way, thank you for sharing your opinion about the steppingstones. Thank you so much Dorothy. I appreciate you taking the time to visit me. Yes that ice plant is definitely a showstopper and one of the easiest things I’ve ever grown. Because it’s a succulent it doesn’t require a lot of water so the more I neglected the more beautiful it blooms in spring. Hope you’re having a beautiful day in your garden too.🥰👍❤️Liz

I planted dwarf nasturtium seeds this year cherry red. There is so many varieties of nasturtium’s. I like the raised stones and put some DG around the stones. We get alot of rain in Cali. Love the idea of an arch way we just put one in.

All of your roses are doing so well. They are beautiful! I am such a klutz I would be tripping on the raised stepping stones. That’s why mine are sunk in the ground. It is good for avoiding mud when it rains though when they are raised. I think for looks either way is attractive. Good morning Ginger, trust me I am a big klutz as well. Especially when I’m wearing my flip-flops with socks I have tripped on those stones many times. So I’m thinking that people are right, being sunk in the ground would be safer for me. I never even thought of that but it makes perfect sense. It just rained again last night as soon as it stops for good. I will be painting that door. I too am very excited to decide on a color. Thank you for watching my video Ginger. I appreciate your comment as well.🥰👍❤️Liz
Looks beautiful Liz 🥰 I love bird feeder’s and they have so many pretty ones 🤗 I plant seeds directly and they adapt to their new home very quickly 🥰 an arch would look amazing with an arch and a beautiful Star Jasmine also evergreen would look amazing climbing over 😃 I just love the Eden Rose xx

I am glad you took my advice and sunk some of your stepping stones. The pathway is safer that way and you can easily sweep or water them clean. If you just do a few at a time each day then the task of sinking the stones will be easier.

Hi SilverDawnInTX when you first gave me that advice to sink the stones, I wasn’t even considering the fact that they will be safer. You are absolutely right, I can’t tell you how many times I have tripped on those stones. I like your idea about just doing a few a day. @@GardenHappy You never think that just being in the garden can harm you. A few years ago I was walking along a paver area using my leaf blower to remove the leaves. Just walking along and then I heard this loud crunch. Believe it or not, I had broken my narrow fibula leg bone! The only thing I can think happened is that I may have stepped on a patch of monkey grass between the stones causing this to happen. I was still able to walk on it until I got into a boot and then had surgery. But my foot and toes still have a tight feeling that is not normal and it will probably stay that way. So that is why safety is always important in the garden.

Oh no that is so horrible. I’m sorry that happened. I can totally relate to what you are talking about. I am 60 years old and now when something happens to me it takes twice as long to heal if ever at all. So you are absolutely right I would be devastated if I was confined to a cast or a forever injury, you make perfect sense my friend and again I’m sorry that happened to you🙏❤️
Hey Liz, a happy update as usual. The stepping stones look great in the ground but I always figured you had them raised for function...as you said mud control in rain. You have to decide which is more important to you...looks or function 🤔

If u have mud issues sometimes ??? Leave them high ....pick up a bag or two of rocks from Walmart n start sprinkling around your bare areas if u like ❤

Good morning Donna, and thank you for taking the time to comment. I was thinking about putting gravel, bark or any kind of decorative rock around the stones, but the problem is I have a large overhead tree that drops a ton of leaves in the fall. So raking would be very difficult. Unless I were to get a leaf blower? That’s a thought. Thank you again for your comment.👍🥰❤️Liz
Hi, Liz! I always thought your stepping stones were a work in progress. They do look unfinished. Maybe put mulch down or pea grave. I like the buried look, but that's a lot of work!!!

Good morning Dolores and thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I completely appreciate and respect your honest opinion and constructional criticism. It is so crazy how I’m getting an equally mixed amount of opinions regarding .But It was actually YOUR/THIS comment that made my final decision! So I Thank you again Dolores❤️🥰👍 Liz

Good morning, and thank you for your comment. Don’t be disappointed or worried when hummingbirds leave. They migrate from Canada to Mexico as the seasons change so they might just be passing through your area on their way to their destination. Or perhaps they built a nest in the neighbors backyard, so are staying closer to home. I noticed every year I put feeders out my hummingbird numbers increase so don’t give up. 🥰👍❤️Liz

If you are using the stepping stones as a walkway it is so much safer if they are leveled with the ground. If they are not leveled with the ground that is a big tripping hazard.

I just planted a clematis I bought from Home Depot online in a pot on my porch to climb my trellis. Do they bloom the first year? I didn't realize it would be so small or I would have ordered one from somewhere else. Its only 2 to 3 inches tall so I doubt I get much this year.

Good morning Shabbychic your clematis should bloom the first year, however, keep in mind if it does, the blooms will be very small and few. your little baby clematis is working hard to establish a good root system, which is very important.
