Hey Shawn, I have at least 1 mouse in my ceiling/ walls. I don’t know how they are getting in or the best way to get rid of them. I love the prototype #8 the silver fat roller one. I was going to put that outside, where I “think” they may be coming in. Any ideas on doing something inside? Make small hole, then pvc pipe from hole leading to single catch trap, taping any openings?? Your thoughts on everything. Thank you ,keep the great videos coming, they are very helpful! Chuck

Yeah the mechanical rolling log mousetrap has to be fine tuned between two ways it couldn't catch mice: if it's slippery (mice run away) and if it's stiff (mice don't get caught). You can catch smaller mice by making it slippery or bigger mice by making it stiff, but not both, so a lot of the mice will not get caught. Electric rolling log trap can be both extremely stiff and extremely slippery.

German cars are famous for over-engineering. Like, for example, BMW eliminating dipsticks and expecting the driver to rely on sensors. There was absolutely no reason for doing this. This and many other reasons are why they are German cars are expensive to maintain, because things are more prone to breaking. I agree, the sensors in this trap actually solves a problem. It doesn't create new problems. This video is proof that you can always build a better mousetrap. This was a great design, and great use of technology.

Prototype 8 doesn't require calibration, because it doesn't use a gravity sensor. It looks and seems to operate using a continuity check. That is, when the mice make contact between the two parts of the roller, it completes the circuit, tripping a relay that sends voltage to the motor. Very much simplifying the design, and making it much less fussy. Awesome engineering on his part.

So I've noticed from watching so many of your videos that this trap does have one advantage. It doesn't seem to scare the near by mice when it's set off. Many of the other traps, particularly the dunk traps that drops the floor, have a tendency to scare the surrounding mice causing them to not come back so fast. These traps don't seem to scare them so they are more likely to go after the bait. That alone is a big win. I feel like that's why they caught so many. I'm betting you could wipe out an entire nest in just a few days to a week if you let all 3 run day and night. Granted more would come but it could certainly keep the population down.

China is supposedly not doing so great in industrial output due to the Corona Virus? Is it BS Deep State propaganda? Is it real or is it Memorex? I would try to avoid getting the virus regardless of the Propaganda being spouted by the media. Especially on JKZread. Worldwide trade and economic output will take a huge hit. Without question. Is that the result of a very bizarre acting virus? Getting it does Not provide immunity apparently at all and any person exposed can get it again. As an MD, I’ll say that’s unusual. Or is the virus the excuse for a worldwide economic collapse? I’d buy some extra food, water, medications and fuel. Peanut Butter is a good choice. Just in case. No matter what the reason. You and your family could be quarantined for ~30+ days on a whim by the Feds. Your milage may vary. Please do your own research before coming to any conclusions.

Those batteries have high self-discharge rates. But they are safer getting charged just with a simple wall adapter. Provided that the chip doesn't draw much, upgrading to a lithium pack would allow the trap to remain functional for much longer.

Please encourage the inventor to get the to market quickly. I need this, and I would gladly purchase several. The mice keep figuring out the spin traps, and electrocution traps. They seem to learn from those that end up dead.
