R5 is ALL you need! I run AC and ATMS2 at 45% and it's perfect, any stronger and it will rip your arms off! The brake kit is a MUST have!

@simracingenthusiastreviews I fear the 5.5nm will be weak. But only r5 is a bundle, going for r9 is too expensive when add wheel n pedals. Fanatec annoy me by just trying to order from that horrible site Where I can't add LC pedals and desk clamp. No idea the best way to get into dd

@@deadmanwalking1930you can buy everything from Moza separately and it won’t be much more expensive. Thus, you can get R9 base, still get ES wheel and buy spr pedals + desk clamp for the base. That will cost you around $700, but you won’t have to buy any mods for pedals and you will have a pretty powerful base that will most likely satisfy all your needs.

I just switched from a controller for years to this Moza R5. I love it. I have the brake kit on the way. Built my rig with wood and picked up a real car seat from the junkyard for twenty bucks. It’s great!

i agree about the pedals, i had the same issue, mounting it to a aluminium profiles was a bit of a pain. As a hint, bolt first the pedals lightly to the plate and then the footrest.

I went to the store to buy the Moza R9 but when driving the R5 I was satisfied with the strength of the base, I came from a T300 base and jumping from 2.5nm to 5.5 was significant. I'm one of those people who don't need more than the R5 offers, I feel practically every detail on the asphalt, and when driving the R9 I felt that the details are the same, only that the steering wheel is heavier to drive. I only bought the base and the ES wheel, as I already had the Thrustmaster TLCM pedal, I also bought a formula wheel that I connect directly to the PC.

Hooray! Direct drive is a breakthgrough technology. It makes everything more fun no matter how strong it is. The detail is there.

I’m new to the racing sim scene and I appreciate the review. I’m looking to build a setup in the near future so I’ve been watching a ton of product reviews. I appreciate that you reminded me to maintain perspective on why I became interested in this hobby. I don’t ever plan on being esport level competitive. I value having a fun + immersive experience over having the most authentic racing experience. So maybe I don’t need a R21…. A R9 or a CSL DD will probably be more than enough That may not have been focus of the video but that really help me..

personally I think for casual/hobby racing the R5 is enough. I'm using that with 80% FFB, and even with this after longer races (250-300km+ on oval) my arms hurts :D

Bought the Moza R5 bundle a couple of months ago. Could not be happier. It was a big upgrade from the Logitech G29 that I had for 5 years or more. I was trying to run Assetto Corsa Competizione with my G29 and just couldn't stay on track. Not enough road feel or something. On the contrary, the Moza R5 was amazing and I immediately was able to do consistent laps unlike with the G29. As I raced the single player championship I was able to win 2 races. So with that said, this wheel and pedals are amazing. You need to add the brake performance kit to have a much better brake pedal. For the price, you can't beat this bundle and the performance it gives you. I'm a hobby player not a full all out sim racer. Of course you can get better and more expensive ones.

Forza 5 works, but needs some adjustment. But it is all very well documented by moza. All other Sims worked just fine for me, in ams2 and pc2 i had just change one setting and they worked no problem. All other work fine for me, like AC, ACCm Dirt Rally 2, rFactor ...plug and play.

A few things Moza appeal to me... (1) Quick Release design much better then Fanatec, Thrustmaster etc. (2) the connection pin between wheels snd wheelbase are contact spring pins, wont break (3) affordable price with goos quality... what turns me away... No console support... i need to get the GT7 urge satisfied quite often and pedals are just so so.
