Importing a TVR to the USA: Meeting another TVR Owner in AZ

TVRs in the USA are very uncommon and very rare. Imagine my surprise to find out that another automotive enthusiast in Arizona recently purchased a Left Hand Drive 1979 TVR 3000S and wanted to stop by and share his recent purchase and take a look at my Cerbera. In this video, I get a good look at Sam's 3000S and let him experience his dream car, my TVR Cerbera 4.2 V8

Cerbera's are awesome cars. The guys reaction when he fired it up was exactly what I was expecting. I have one or two tails of TVR's in the US. Was attending a meeting in Phoenix once and the sponsors took us all out to dinner. They insisted that we all split up and sat with people we were unfamiliar with so to make new connections. I sat at a table for four and the guy opposite, who was from Colorado, said to brake the ice, "So I've got a TVR at home, do any of you know what that is?" It was great evening. Congrats on your Cerbera, I really miss mine. I've had my 2006 Tuscan Convertible 13 years now and so still smiling.

That's a fun story! Do you recall what he had? I image that there are more tasmins in the USA than other models.

Ex Chimaera owner here. Please keep in mind they are unforgiving cars. Have fun, never push it to it's limits.

It's recommended to not even look at the silver key, never mind use it. They can be rather delicate so just use the remote fob and immobiliser. Glad you're enjoying Cerbera ownership, you bought a lovely example, even though I'm gutted you didn't buy mine lol.

I don't have the 'usb' immobilizer, just the fob and silver key =/

@@AaronsEccentricGarage you should have about 30secs to put the ignition on when you unlock the car, even without the "usb" part. There's been times I've been too lazy to reach over and just locked and unlocked the car again to get the ignition back on lol.

NICE! Great to see another 3000S on video! Sam looks to be about how old I was when I got mine. I've had mine for 25+ years and took it to 2nd in class at SCCA Solo2 Nationals in 1998. (Vids of it on my channel). Someday would love to visit.. or if you are in San Diego area. Cheers, love seeing so much TVR content in the USA.... and not from me!!! Hahaha
