I think you all are overlooking the most crucial factor of the game. One of magnus biggest strengths is also his time management, which is why vidit made an incorrect move. His mind is just super sharp.

I think Judith Polgar once said if u want to defeat Magnus, trade his knights (hes too good with knights)

Vidit was truly in his unstoppable form however as a Vidit fan we all knew a win would be very tough. Draw would have been a good result

If you have seen him try and solve puzzles, you may not be that far off. I think he uses intuition more often than he would care to admit. When it comes to calculation, he admits to being lazy about it.

His intuitive function doesnt care a about knowing _how_ it works. it just knows that it *does* work. 😂

Vidit had the white pieces. Unfortunately, the black pieces had Magnus.

For the final 50 moves or so, Magnus never dropped below 2-3 minutes on the clock, while Vidit was in a constant zeitnot of 20-40 seconds on the clock. In an endgame with 4 knights on the board, it is unbearable pressure.

I always like when the players talk after the game, though one can't hear their talking. Rivalry yes, but not enmity, like in the 70s/80s. It gives a sportsmanship feeling...😄 And why is the man so eager to put the pieces back on as quickly as possible?

Magnus's endgame skills are just so superior than the rest especially when it comes to the knights.

Magnus was definitely running away from Sagar at the end 😂😂😂

i like how magnus slowly eliminated squares for vidits knights to move in. all in all knights have always been my favorite pieces because of their mystic abilities. cheers to both players 🎉

I wud have played on - by sacrificing the knight for b3. He can bring his knight to protect e6, but for how long... I wud have made him sweat more... get him down to a minute at least! Hmmm... "principle of 2 weaknesses": Vidit shud not have taken en passant on the h-file. Created doubled pawns, AND gave him a LOT of space on the k-side. g5-h4 wud have kept the k-side closed. Defending the pawn(s) with knight(s) was always a recipe for trouble....

The pawn is still protected by the knight and it will have enough time for black king to catch up, the evaluation bar would've tied up if it was a draw

Vidit mistakenly though that he could defend the King-side and Black can not catch on White pawn but the actual game show that Black decisively penetrated on the Queen-side

but after night sac its a draw why did he resign

No if Vidit sacrificed his knight by capturing the black's passed pawn, then Magnes 's knight came to defend his own pawn. See the analysis of the same game on Agadmator chess channel. The result was clearly win for Magnes.
