I had heard of this song before, but my friend told me to listen to it at lunch once and saw my reaction. This was a few weeks ago. I’m speechless every time. The plot twist made my jaw drop. When I tell you it made my jaw drop, it wasn’t just a little, I was speechless for like 5 minutes. What a masterpiece of a song. Great message under the surface of the brutal violent lyrics

I was born and raised listening to hip hop, but this song will always send shivers through my bones.

Same. First heard this back in 2005 and anyone who doesn’t like this song can go fork themselves with their bad taste. But this was definitely missing some parts. Squealing in jail after only a month, stabbing someone looking them in the eye, etc.

Simon was fucking shook... His reaction was priceless. Imagine hearing that as a kid like I did. In middle school my friends would talk about the song and it took me so long to hear it on my own because I knew it was scary as hell.

Ross capicchoni was a real dude and there’s like a 10-15 min interview with Ross it makes the music video and lyrics so much more surreal. Immortal technique always gives me chills but Ross capichoni had me mouth open goosebumps I was blown away by that track

I think it's more so not that this story particularly was true, but that things like this do happen in the neighborhood where he was from all the time and that life is brutal and harsh for real.

Isaac Delgass No the story was meant to he taken literally as in the stuff happening in it but the whole story is a metaphor for all the things that people do in those places that is just straight up evil and demonic and that some go into that life knowing exactly how fucked up they have to be to live that life and that some even love it. But it's not for everyone cuz in the story Billy did actually rape his mom. And once he realized how far he had fallen after his mom gave up so much to give him what little she had left after she herself danced with the devil he realized he couldn't handle that life and ended it instead. He probably would have killed the girl if it wasn't his mother but since it was his mom, someone he loved even tho he didn't show it, he decided that death was better than living with the devil.

As is the fact that you ask for clarification regarding lyrics or significance in a way that shows you're actually looking to learn more about the genre.

So excited you guys did this song! I'll never forget the 1st time I heard this, I was in class and my teacher said I could use my ipod in class to drown out noise while I took a make-up test. Decided I'd check out those new songs I downloaded off of itunes. By the time Dance with the devil was done, I felt cold inside on a warm day, completely forgot or cared about the test, and just sat there stunned, looking at the innocently oblivious faces of my classmates, who were struggling to conjugate verbs, with no idea to the wicked reality that was spoken in that room that day. I remember the first time I heard this song I was absolutely stunned by the "twist" ending. I love reaction videos of it, because people always freeze when the gruesome rape happens, and then the ending always leaves people completely shocked. It's a brilliant song though because,much like System of A Down, it isn't cheap shock, it's the type of purposeful shock that forces you to face the ugliness of what they're telling you, and understanding *why* it's important that you face it. I also love Immortal Technique's "The Third World" if you ever fancy checking it out.
