I had planned to see this at some point, but wasn't super excited since most reviews were "meh" at best. But I am so glad I chose to see it tonight. I found it quite surprising and that last act was great. And Sweeney is a new scream queen, for sure. Not perfect, but a really solid supernatural/religious horror movie.

Another video KZread is hiding from me. The movie was okay. The plot was kind of thin. i was expecting over the top chaos, but my imagination was much worse than actual movie.

Great Review! I was doubting if I wanted to go to the theater or wait for VOD... I think I now know what I must do!

Totally agree…watched it twice which is extremely rare for me.

Suspiria 1977 is my favorite!

I need to watch this and Late Night with the Devil while they are both in theaters. My favorite giallo, so far, is Susipiria. For nunsploitation, I really like The Devils, The Nun and the Devil, Alucarda, and School of the Holy Beast. Are there any giallo films you really like, Chris? Have a great weekend!

This movie was great. I knew nothing about it and saw avg reviews and was bored on a Sunday, and wasn't up for a CGI Monster fest. Well, this was pretty wild and fun. And tense. And disturbing too. I really liked every act; the build up was nicely paced and then it goes off the rails in a great way. Sydney does surprisingly well too. It's a shame its not getting more attention.

When reviewing a Sydney Sweeney movie, it's standard for the reviewer to mention whether she gets naked. You did say "some nudity" so I'm just going to go in optimistic.

Very good review, I like it, very professional. I named this movie "monastery massacre". The world is well presented and religious aspect is present here but because of that there is no time left to introduce audience deeper into characters which are very modestly presented. What is supposed to compensate for it is tragedy of sister Mary but this plot is too predictable and I'm not buying it. I was also expecting to get some explanations at the end of the movie or at least see the born child. I'm not that type of a guy who like watching unsolved mysteries. Despite this, you can easily guess everything but I would prefer more gore and less scenes from corridors walks. In some aspects Hellhole from 2022 is similar but Immaculate 2024 is a much better production in many respects, especially when it comes to soundtracks and overall sound design. I really loved some shootings from Hellhole but the rest things was either average or poor. I think that in Immaculate they could add at least one more beautiful scenery short scene to better show Italian nature and contryside. It's OK movie but I wouldn't call it a good horror. In terms of macabre and massacre totally better movie is When Evil Lurks which is definitely in my opinion the best horror movie from 2023.

to each their own but damn gotta disagree with his one I thought it was just a much worse and boring Rosemary's Baby and I really didn't like Sydney Sweeney, she seemed out of place in her on movie, her acting doesn't seem believable outside of a contemporary setting

I didnt like it at all. It wasnt my type of movie i dpnt like pregnancy anything lol. But the acting was so awful in opinion it was like she had to give a book report on nuns and put 5 min of research in and then was like heres my report or whatever. Lol

I didn't like it. Full of cliches, jumpscares, and even involuntary comedy.

Very bad movie.
