That is some very nice micro soldering mate! My only suggestion that would make it neater, and reduce the risk of cutting the cable while cleaning, would be to rather sand off the insulation and the first copper layer at the joint. If the gradient is slight you would have both layers exposed and less distance to cover to join up with those wires. I've personally used this technique professionally, when I last did electronic repairs more than 12 years ago.

Okay I have a few comments about this process. 1) if you reduce the size of the home button flex, how are you going to put it back on a screen if the length of it its not the same. The home button would not reach the opening on the screen. 2) The work is great and impress no doubt, however, this video does not show or proof, that it actually works. 3) Keep up the good work though.

@@crackedscreen9570 He may have been referring to independent repair technicians. If a person is self employed and brings in less than $40 per hour, you would soon be in financial trouble. Buying equipment, parts, paying utilities, heath insurance, city, county, federal taxes. Rent or house payment, family expenses. This repair also looks fragile, so there will be unpaid warranty work. That is likely what he means.

the reason the home button are going bad is a combination of people dropping their iphone and also a BGA chip mounted to a flex cable using lead free solder. I will predict that eventually all iphone 7 and 8 will go bad. I have sent a few to ebay repair shops and they always come back working. I have unsuccessfully tried the U2 chip replacement. I have taken 6 to Apple to replace the entire display for $149. There is also a variable; the flex in the display can also go bad.
