The Railway Challenge is an annual competition run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, where teams of university students or young rail engineers design, build and run 10 & 1/4" gauge locomotives in a series of challenges. The competition is held at Stapleford Miniature Railway in Leicestershire.

The clear winners of this year's competition were SNC-Lavalin, who had previously won the inaugural Railway Challenge in 2012 under their former name 'Interfleet'.
