I've been doing business in Sri Lanka for 20 years. It's a beautiful country, mostly a Buddhist country, very friendly people . Sure, there are problems with the government in Sri Lanka (basically family run), corruption and the like, but nothing to warrant claiming asylum in another country. I almost moved to Sri Lanka for my work. Amazing country and looking forward to going back later this year for a holiday. Sri Lankans are a passionate people, I have no idea why they would want to abandon their homeland.

2 of my friends went to Sri lanka for a 3 week holiday last month. They loved it. No reports of it being war torn.....hmmmm
