Morris Chestnut was Ricky in “Boyz N The Hood.” The actress who played Mia (Monica Calhoun) was Ebony, Diamond’s cousin, in “the players club.” It was a reunion between Morris & Nia.

Harp didn’t want to introduce Lance to Mia because he knew Lance was a dog. Mia turned to Harper because she was hurt and Harp was upset that he was dogging is friend.

Nah Quentin is not really evil. He just sees through people’s bs including his friends. When you think about it he’s the most truthful out of everyone and the least scandalous. He just wanted everyone to be real about their flaws and mistakes and stop wearing a fake mask on top of the truth and better themselves

I still, to this day, after 25 years, don't understand WHY Harper wrote that book lol

I think this and “Love and Basketball” were the movies that made Regina Hall famous and gave her a name in Hollywood she wasn’t a big actress around this time but she did have small roles in the late 90s this role showed a more depth to her ability to act landing her in the Wayne Bros Films “Scary Movie” Franchise and more+

You watch a lot of good classic movies but this movie right here is a classic

if im being honest, i kinda mostly blame harper. lance was dogging mia so she wanted revenge but choosing his friend is DIRTY. now they probably didnt know they would end up together but ONE never telling him at all but writing in a book is disgusting and TWO allowing Lance, as a man of god, to believe his woman still had her virginity is DISGUSTING x2.

It's not like she FORGOT. She never told Lance so he would have the facts either. She's just going along like she's oblivious to the issue. She had the talk with Jordan so she knows it's in the book. Yet she didn't lift a finger to accept any responsibility for what happened and she didn't think it might be something Lance should know before marrying her. Regardless of why she did it, she DID IT. Great movie but Harper writing a book about his life is one of the dumbest things he did or at least including those events in his book

Definitely Love Jones.

Quintin is a jerk, BUT he's the kind of friend we all need; he's even better in the sequel and the limited series Harper is ridiculous the ENTIRE series, lol just wait until you see the limited series that ends everything. He wasn't as bad in Best Man Holiday, the sequel movie was his only decent time Lance got his getback for all his dirt, lol and no one will convince me that Mia did worse than he did, just because she was with Harper; Lance was with every woman on campus and beyond and ONLY stopped because they got married.

I can’t be the only one who thinks Harper is THE WORST. He chose write about his friends & his dark secrets knowing despite the consequences. Did he really think Lance wasn’t gonna find out sooner or later?

Unpopular opinion: Lance and Mia shouldn't have gotten married. You can never forget that your wife literally lost her virginity to your best friend and best man of your wedding. It would've been so much easier to just dump Lance after he cheated on her in college rather than sleep with his friend out of spite and then get back with him afterwards. It's even shadier for Harper to write a book detailing the experience to make a profit from it and none of them planned on telling Lance the truth and he had to find out years later from reading it all.

This spoke to me because this is the environment I was from as opposed to hood drug dealers and gang bangers. This was a continuation of The Bill Cosby Era as opposed to The NWA Gangsta Rap Hip Hop Era.
