I high jump and this is truly an eye opening video

I think his two foot vertical is low because he doesn't squat. From his training videos, it appears his strength lift is 12 inch box step-ups. The ROM is optimized for building strength for one foot take-offs, but isn't deep enough to build strength for two-footed.

An athlete enters the take-off mechanism differently on one and two leg lift-offs. These exercises are general conditioning exercises. They are not frontal Russian approach imitational exercises that teach defined conversion step length ratios.

they wasted an opportunity to test his vertical jump off running. Why not just see how high it is in all situations?

I originate from Sweden but live in Australia, 17 years old and I'm 6'1" i almost got the district record at 1.86cm but just didn't clear it. My standing vertical is 78cm but on a run up off 1 foot I can get about 95cm, clearly technique error when it comes to high jump. I think i could improve it by a fair bit, but i just can't work out the proper technique, does anyone have any tips? Stefan Holm is amazing! :) I have a dunk video on my channel if anyone wants to check it out

Zurichlakegirl: if you had read my comment, you would have seen, that i did it in physical education AT school. and i dont think that you wheigh 76kg so its quite logical i cant jump that high, because jumping isn't my hobby.

I get specificity, but I've just never heard of a disparity this big. In everyone I've ever seen, there was a much higher correlation between their two-foot and one-foot verticals. When I could squat 350 lbs, both my one-foot and two-foot verticals were high, and just about the same.
