Im finally changing my Op Amps!

Ғылым және технология

What is an operational amplifier, or op amp and what does it do on my sound card! To put it in a simple way, the op amp senses a signal and amplifies that signal to the output. So just an amplifier, but then in a small case. But what effect does it have on you audio quality? Let's find out in this video!

    I just changed out my 5532 dual channel opamps to sparkos ss3602s, one in my aune magic DAC XVIII and two in my Aiyima 07 Max amp and lord have mercy it sounds like my speakers quadrupled in size: width, depth, clarity and body are all magical. It's like you're inside the music now! I don't know how to explain it, even my record player's Schiit Mani 2 phono stage sounds 3 times better! Well worth the money!

    The answer to your dilemma is: You CAN hear what you CANNOT see on a graph. The graph does not show subtle flavors in music which the ears can taste.

    Absolutly. The was my conclusion as well. The specific distortion an opamp gives, will have an impact on the flavor of the sound!

    Or static measurements are not always useful in determining sound quality of something that has a dynamically fluctuating load.

    Thank you for being brave enough to openly express such a conclusion. I'm really intrigued as to whether you think this would be worthwhile for my Soundblaster ZxR which compliments my VR setup, I use speakers because they create a far more detailed and real world sound than VR headphones. So what do you think? Worth it on the ZxR? The price is not low.

    I don't see the RMAA results in distortion as substantial. The problem is that they are unloaded tests, when you run a loopback or a wire to your measurement interface, the input that you're running them to is high impedance and takes essentially no current to drive it; which is obviously not the case with the headphones, which take a substantial power to induce the movement.

    Hello. When I make a preamplifier I have to choose an op amp ic. Then I'm looking for unchanged sound! in the case of an A B comparison with and without, the sound should not change but be the same. I don't use an op amp ic as an eq.

    I did this recently on my AE9. Thinking 'whatever I've had it for a few years, I have money to blow. I'm sure it'll do nothing' I didn't know audio could be this clear, and I didn't know my headphones were this good.

    Hi Anton. I got an Asus xonar ae because I thought my new motherboards sound wasn't working. An Asus b550 f but then I managed to fix the issue with MB. The b550 f has high quality audio components, do you think I should still use the sound card? If I install it will I be able to switch or use both the MB and SC for audio?

  • @AntonsHardware

    @AntonsHardware

    3 жыл бұрын

    You cannot use the MB and SC at the same time, thus using outputs at the same time. You can easily change output with the volume control in Windows 10. Maybe that's an option? And I were you I'd stick with the AE, because those components will be a lot better than any motherboard components.

    I bought the same kit from burson for my essence stx, i do love them but ran into an issue where they would have hiss/wind noise that would travel trough both channels (considering the prices of them having this issue is a joke).. I found it quite fun to try different combination, sometimes X opamps would sound good in the buffer stage but meh if i would put a pair in the voltage stage.. in the end it does enhance your audio experience but buying and trying out opamps seems to get addictive :)

    @@AntonsHardware Nope, using one in the buffer slot doesnt produces those sounds, only in I/V. I added adhesive sheets of copper on the bottom stock EMI shield and on my custom backplate it didn't change a thing, it seems to have been reported a few times on the forum at head-fi.org I'm currently rocking a pair of OPA1656 with one V5i in the buffer slot, absolutely no noise even with a naked card !

    Hi Dani T. Great headset! I'm thinking of getting one myself. If I had to choose between the Z and the AE, I'd go for the AE. The DAC and the opamp are way better than the Z. For the opamp, I'd recommend the Bursons from this video! I really loved those!
