Located remotely in the heart of France, stands a resplendent 17th-century castle, graced by neo-renaissance aesthetics. Through revolutions and passing eras, its walls still bear witness to the lives of multiple noble family generations.
Its original castle lord, Francois, was a noble soldier, valorous and staunch. This castle, replete with servants and workers was, his kingdom. The echo of the battle once fought here during the 17th-century Religious wars between the Calvinists and Catholics, still seems to resonate within the castle's corridors. Their unanticipated ambush during a moment of vulnerability - while he was on his toilet, led to a siege of three relentless days, ending in enemy triumph.
Despite such vicissitudes, Francois' lineage flourished. His descendants, noble hunters with a penchant for intriguing taxidermy and priceless antiques, nurtured the castle. In such way, they meticulously curated a historical French interior, transforming it into an awe-inspiring time capsule.
Due to this rich tapestry of history, the castle was declared a historical monument in the 19th century. Its last inhabitant, Olaf, a medal-bearing medical practitioner, found solace in its confines until the early 2000s. His demise marked the end of an era as the castle's maintenance proved exorbitant.
Left abandoned, the castle now stands as a silent testament to its glorious past. Today, we embark on an exploration of this historical landmark, eager to unveil its illustrious past.

I'm sorry, but not sorry. I'm really happy that it was just you in this place. You have such fondness for the small details as much as the big ones. You love to look at each room, big or small. You have a lot of wonder and amazement plus so much respect to the owners memories and really capturing all the things about them that you can discover. That's the very reason I watch the explorations with you or Danny leading the way (Danny has deep respect as you do) . When I was younger and would sneak into abandoned places... that's exactly what I did and why I did.

The kit you were wondering about on the desk was a drug chemistry set. It was used to measure, cook, and mix medicine to give to people in the 1800's. A very rare find!! You need to fund it properly, set up a Foundation, get Volunteers yes, Create KZread Content Yes, Monetize it yes..but build a Community around it First..have an Event there..get 100 people under a Tent..from that , build an A Team..and get 50 people at once working on it..Think like that because the Solo preneur thing is overated..Many Burn Out, it quickly becomes a Nightmare whereas , if you Do it Right, well funded, well surrounded, it can be Fun and Creative..Restore, Consolidate, Replace but also build Relationships..Video Guys, Builders, Engineers, Carpenters, Landscapers, Event Organizers..its tjhe way to Do it Right.. 5 million over 10 years..Maybe set up proper Tents and kittchens for Volunteers , Event Attendees, a Good Kitchen..Do it Right..Start there..Dreaming, having just Delusions is easy..It takes a Vision, then a Plan.

My ancestors (Antoine and Celene Maffrand) came over from France with their children in the 1850's to St. Louis, Missouri, USA and I LOVE to see how they possibly lived before the came to America and it DOESN'T disappoint! Thank you so much for this beautiful explore!! You have some of the most beautiful antiques, so beautifully had made! That Military hat was preserved so beautifully in that armour!! Omg, AND Military uniforms. This just keeps getting better and better!! It always makes me sad to see so many heirlooms just left behind! The stair cases are just beautiful!! Love the old pictures!! Such beautiful details in the woodworking!! The magazine picture room was amazing!! Oh my, I just loved this explore! Stay safe, Peace, Kim ~

This explore has to be my favorite one or In the top 3. I have especially the old castles in my memories. One was where you found files about their business going back in to the mid 1600's. I think the huge tapestries and Murrells are the best 👌. . I am glad that you let us know how you are able to continue your education. I studied nursing and if I had known that I had toearn as much as I did,I would have become a doctor. I guess I still pursue knowledge in this field. It is a passion. I have worked with many res 4th year Residents in surgery in Gynecology mostly and on a medical floor where they had very sick patients with all types of diseases. I preferred surgery. I was able to learn from the best in all the different services. I love reading new discoveries and checking out scientific research too. All the best to you ❤

This can't be real. Castles like this only exist on disney or cartoon or fairytales. Thats not real. Thats a DREAM!!!! U were inside of a fairytale. U spent 5 hours in a fairytale. I am not wrong when i say i was born in the wrong era. Those are the places where i dream to live and wake up every single day of my life!!! Those people were living their best life, and they were living my dream 😢 I would die to live in a castle like this! I would just feel like i am a princess 👑 Especially the purple room, my favorite one, the girl that used to sleep in that room and used that cute vintage vanity was definitely a princess. 💜 The castle is amazing, every single room in it is breath taking, the location as well. And from the outside, wow! The drone shots you took really helped us to see the castles from different angles, and showed us the beauty of it. The music you used was perfect for this explore, it made the video more magical ✨ One of the best urbex videos i watched, and one of the best locations ever! Fascinating! The device at the end with the numbers is a maid/butler bell. The numbers reference the room they are being called to. There would be a button or pull-chord in each room connected to this box that the home owners would press/pull when they wanted to call a maid or butler.

I wish someone would care for all the lovely abandoned pianos, to close them up from collecting dust and decay. I was glad to see the keys covered on the grand. I wish someone would reclaim them. They’re left with so many priceless antiques, they’re barely an afterthought to the wealthy people who leave so much behind. Maybe, someday? ❤ It’s so true about the treasures we gather around us: “We can’t take them with us.” What a stark comparison, seeing treasures left from their glorious days, only to decay. What an amazing palace! And someone called it “home.” Wow. Thank you, thank you, for bringing us along! ❤

Often the owners would die, and their children/grandchildren either didn't want to take on such a massive, expensive, project, - have lives too far away, and don't want to, or can't, relocate, - fought over who should get it so it sits empty and dying, - or the taxes owed on it were astronomical.

This is the first castle for me that the whole thing from inside to outside, from the attic to the basement was beautiful to me. Each detail and room had me wowing. If i had the money i would purchase that one myself. And restore every detail back to the original state. Moe when you stood on the balcony, I believed the castle was yours. I could really see you as it's owner.

Me too wasn’t it fun? I love how he loves them so much like I do and I love when he dresses up and walks through. I just love how he’s so patient because I like to go slow and look and he does it. He’s wonderful. God bless you.

I loved ❤️ the music, it went so well with the old castle, it was fitting for it, so moving to my soul too! I can just imagine what that place looked like once, splendid and magnificent in all its glory, what a pity they didn't keep it up, and that grandfather clock, so sad that it was left to rot 😢! I am an animal lover, but it's OK to see all those taxidermy mounted animals, that was long ago.

looks like maybe the basement was for the servants ? and workers? i do love animals but also back then they killed them for food mostly so nothing went to waste. my grandmother was born in 1907 haha she used to love to tell stories of what it was like, when her family got their first phone, the big box on the wall with a crank lol, and their first car, having no heat or running water, today is more modern for sure but then again we take so much for granted. my favorite room was the one where you went out onto the balcony i love it !
