Illustrator Reacts to Requested Manga Artists (Mangaka)

After the last Illustrator Reacts to Good and Bad Manga art episode, I got tons more requests for Mangaka to cover in this series. And I am happy to oblige! So in this episode we look at a bunch of the requested artists. fantastic creators such as Boichi (Dr. Stone and Sun Ken Rock), Eiichiro Oda (One Piece), Sui Ishida (Tokyo Ghoul), Kaoru Mori (A Bride's Story), Posuka Demizu (The Promised Neverland) and My Hero Academia creator Kohei Hirokoshi.
In each illustrator reacts video I've had a different sort of focus lately on a specific theme, this time I talk a lot about how different artists use different rending styles or color schemes. I also break down Boichi's coloring process which he laid out in an article online. I also talk a bit about text layout and how switching text in a manga from Japanese to English can sometimes mess up the flow of a piece. And of course I had to talk about how awesome of a protagonist Luffy is for Eiichiro Oda's art style!
I hope you all enjoy this episode and I'm super excited to see who else you all request I talk about!!!

Fun fact: Kohei Horikoshi actually has so much experience with drawing his characters that he completely skips the sketching phase

You could also finish the rest of the Big Three: Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto) and Tite Kubo (Bleach). Also, Yuki Tabata from Black Clover and the manga illustrator for Goblin Slayer, Kosuke Kurose.

I'm not a fan of My Hero but jesus christ can Horikoshi draw hands, the fact that he made his mascot two hands is such a flex

God I hope he does Kentaro Miura's Berserk, even just comparing the first volume to the latest, somehow he managed to improve himself from godly to transcendent with his panel-to-panel linework

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned Hellsing and Drifters artist Kouta Hirano. It took him over a decade for Hellsing alone and that was only 10 volumes.

I've read that apparently Eiichiro Oda works 21 hours a day, six days a week, on One Piece. A few years back he was hospitalized due to his work ethic impacting his health, and apparently friends and family who visited him in the hospital were shocked to see him continuing to work on One Piece even in his hospital bed. I gotta say, I admire his work ethic even though I wouldn't recommend emulating it...

One Piece is one of the most cartoony action manga that exists, he has style and uses few textures through all of his work which is impressive, because textures is something manga artists really like

Us in Malaysia were recently treated to Mori Kaoru's presence in yesterday's annual comic/anime festival. You talked about how time-consuming it would take to draw all those patterns in A Bride's Story, but from her live drawing demonstration she does it by hand at rapid speed (though I guess only for patterns she knows from memory).
