@@moreblack To be fair, you're told that you suck, you're a "dumb worthless sinner" unless you give your entire life and everything you care about over to a god, who doesn't show himself, gives no proof that they exist or did exist and tells you that if you don't believe, you're going to hell. You will never be good enough, even though Jesus died on the cross, you still absolutely suck, remember that worm because you're a weak sinner who is nothing with out god. Oh and if you're LGBTQ+ or support it, you're in direct violation over over half a dozen pretty easy to understand excepts from a text written by past humans who were supposedly actually just puppets, because God was writing through them. Be fruitful and multiply with your sisters, your daughters and your wife, but not your son, because that would be gay (Polygamy wasn't considered bad, neither was incest, it's right there in Genesis. But being gay is referenced as absolutely sin in various passages and anyone who says wrong is just denying how anti-LGBTQ the Abrahamic religions all are), be fruitful and multiply. God knows all, sees all and knows what will happen, but you still have free will, so it's still your fault. Even if you do everything right you might still end up in hell because you didn't believe enough and everyone you like and love that isn't Christian like you is doomed. Of course they're angry. That entire mindset is a nervous break down with psychosis waiting to happen. Being told and made to feel like you're worthless with out an invisible being to tell you that you have worth. let alone all the other confusing, contradictory and generally just nasty things the bible says and has stories about. Like, it's not a pleasant or heart warming read in the slightest.

At 32:09 Washington sounded like the actual actor for a sec and it threw me off💀💀

9:00 I don't know... for all the crazy things happening in this play, person playing Washington here did quite well. He also seems like one of the few people that actually want to be there and are into the role.

Honestly, I think Burr-kid's lack of enthusiasm is actually terror. As a baby drama kid, a lot of my friends who were having their first roles had similar stage presence-- wasn't that they didn't care, they were just *literally* shaking. I feel bad for all of these children. I don't think any of them could have known that their church was being extremely underhanded by putting on this show, and this is in no way their fault. I hope these kids are okay.

The point isnt to make it a great performance. The point is to have fun and give entertainment to the audience. This guy is taking church plays too seriously. Its a cover. Relax. its all kids just doing a church play after all. Churches dont have a full time actors group after all.

honestly same! i’ve spent many years in post-hamilton burnout/cynicism as a theatre kid that was all over it in 2016/17, and this video actually got me feeling nostalgic and wanting to watch the original again. considering how memed the og (and minecraft versions of the) songs are amongst my friends, that’s impressive for sure

I’m sorry, who thinks MUSICAL THEATRE is the place to put your homophobic rants, a community full of the LGBTQ+ members and of a play written by a prominent ally.

It feels like someone pulled out a gun during rehearsals and told all the actors that if they put a single harmony in during the real performance, they’d be sniped on sight. But Hamilton is such a harmony-heavy show that occasionally they’ll slip one in, do a mental ‘OH SHIT’ and pull back because they’re afraid that the guy is cocking his gun.

Jenny Nicholson made a video on it and it’s amazing Edit: I know one of the exact ones they did was Toy Story. Also the Avengers, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future…

You know something’s wrong when a high school drama club with an incredibly low budget, but passionate actors, can put on a better the show than mega churches that are rolling in cash.

my high school drama club's production of a show we wrote ourselves is better than this even though we had no budget (we had to use what the school already had and pay out of pocket), people kept joining and quitting, and the club almost got terminated multiple times because administration thought we were goofing off. and to top it all off the director got fired a month before the show with no replacement because the school didn't care enough to get one. we did the best we could to advertise the show but the only people who came were family members and our former director. that was freshman year though, thankfully now they have a stable and successful theatre program. shit I got off topic again I swear I can't write a comment without turning it into an essay

Not to mention, Lin and the people who helped him write the story made it absolutely clear that Hamilton isn't a perfect person. Even Javier Muñoz, Lin's alternate, praised the way Hamilton because Alex is such a flawed individual.

12:21 my least favorite part is how they cut the part where the chorus sings "She'd be lying" with eliza because it feels like that verse is one of the most important parts of the song: Eliza is keeping quiet about who she loves so that angelica can be happy and having the chorus sing that small part adds impact to it and shows that it is the truth. Angelica wouldnt be fine and Eliza knows that, now it just feels weird, my brain expects to hear multiple voices sing "She'd be lying"

I think you got mixed up. Eliza is the one getting married. Even though Angelica wanted to marry Hamilton, she let Eliza have him so she would be happy "I would choose her happiness over mine anytime" (Reynolds pamphlet)
