ILLEGAL gold mining activities, change or be fined!!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Over the past five years I've been filming my gold prospecting adventures in Tasmania.
Little did I know that the way in which I was going about it was illegal.
A couple of months ago I received a phone call from a parks and wildlife officer asking me to come into the office to discuss some concerns they had but they wouldn't go into detail unto I was in the office with a video recording and a second PWS officer. I initially blew out and got upset and ignored the request. A few months later I received a letter in the mail with 15 or more infringements and that if I didn't follow through as asked I would have court proceedings taken against me.
At this point I responded with no other choice but to go see what all the fuss was about and agreed to meet with the parks officers on a certain day and time.
The meeting although quite uncomfortable at first soon brought to the attention that I'd been filming my prospecting and gold adventures illegally without a permit. Although licensed to do the prospecting adventures I certainly wasn't licensed to film in national parks and even crown land for that matter. I never even knew such a permit was possible and I was educated on such along with other rules I was breaching. This video is not me trying to make a cry at Parks and Wildlife but rather to educate other KZreadrs, vloggers and Photographers of the necessary permits required to operate commercially in Tasmania.

But they are "Draconian" meaning they are acting like beings from the Draco star system. They do not have the human ability of empathy. They typically like to find 100% of people guilty of their made up laws but have to let a few off the hook every now and then to make the slave system look fair. The only way to defeat them is to learn witchcraft (the use of words aka spells). You see your NAME is your N A ME (enemy).

Well done Levi. It's great to adhere to the rules. The trouble I have; is that the rules can be very overstepping. Here in America, lands such as that belong to We The People. We fund it, therefore, it belongs to us. We hire those who oversee the land. In turn, bit by bit, bite by bite, they take over. As for not being able to take dead-standing vegetation, are they aware that by doing so, you decrease the possibility of wildfires? That's a fact! It's almost as if they want everything to burn based on recent events around the world. And, it has happened there as well. Hope you get it all sorted out. You have top-notch videos that I truly enjoy, and drool over due to the gold you find!

Here in Australia, 'we the people', support Parks and Wildlife in preserving our wild spaces though. No-one wants waterways ripped apart by dredges and sluices except a small minority exploiting for minimal gold. Sure one guy may rip up a bank for $50-$500-$1000 gold flakes. What is the real $ cost of the damage to that bank. Sure removing a deadwood may be fine, but what if it's a habitat, is the person removing it educated to know?

I have never seen either of them use mechanical gear aside from dive compressor, and I have not seen either of them "destroy" rock bed, they clear the crevices in search of gold, I believe them both to be very respectful to the places they visit to be honest... you make it sound like they're destroying the place, have you ever watched any of their content or are you someone not as successful with their knickers in a twist?

It's not jealousy mate. It doesn't take much to completely f$&K up the Australian bush. Didn't you listen to Levy? Drones when they get lost in bushland become a fire risk from the battery that will eventually age, discharge, become unstable and likely start a chemical breakdown. We have this problem occurring close to where we are living but fortunately the fire department puts out the fires. Over in Tassie, it would take days for hundreds of fire staff to group and put out an uncontrolled bush fire. We already got a horrifying experience in 2019 on the east coast. It was like a nightmare mate. So many people dead, so many unique natural habitats with thousands of acres simply gone forever. I revisited a bushfire affected site recently and it's still just ashes. Soil was too alkaline to support plant life and with the rains that followed, every last possibility of regeneration was washed away. Over time the small plants will grow back, but the trees and wildlife will take a hundred years or more. We will never forget 2019.

They should be lauding you for bringing the natural beauty of Tasmania's back country to the world. I do get that that they need to have rules to keep the land as it is....and one great way to do this is to team up with folks like yourself. I hope the fines were minimal, and I do not care if this video was a 'condition' of greatly reduced fines, as it does serve the public good (it looked kinda like a hostage video, TBH🙂) Please keep bringing the wilds of Tasmania, and the gold, to those of us that will probably never get there in person.

I appreciate the fact that I never have to worry about the content of your videos. Watching the way you construct your videos is like reading a good book you don’t want to put down. Please don’t be downhearted about the issues you are facing. In the end you will be known as a good man who balances prospecting with land management protection. Hey Levi, there are so many of us that live for the very same adventure that you do. But very few of us have the skill and patience to document and share it all. So keep it up, we'll all get behind you on this one! We absolutely love following your expeditions! About the 4x4 enthusiasts, it surprised me to hear you say that having big tyres and enjoying a challenge is "doing the wrong thing". I love the outdoors, and I enjoy so many different activities in it. 4x4ing being one of them. The tracks are there to be driven, and like you say, there is often an easy line and a hard line on tracks. How come those who choose to drive the hard line are doing the wrong thing? Using that logic, someone in a Subaru forester who only drives on gravel roads could then very well say the same thing to you in your 4by doing the easier 4x4 tracks. Just wanted to share my thoughts on that one, as i believe we're all on the same team, as long as we respect the outdoors, take our rubbish home, only drive marked tracks, and use common sense, which is what the vast majority of 4x4 enthusiasts do, it should be happy days 👍. All the best to you and your family in what seems a pretty busy and stressful time 😊👍

After 3 years of research, it was interesting to learn none of these laws we are governed by are actually laws but rules, and all of these rules require the consent of each person they are being applied to unless there is a contract in place between the two parties such as a permit or license. There is also two dictionaries in play, the Oxford Dictionary the people use and the Blacks Law Dictionary the authorities and Legal system use, which is designed to fool the people into giving consent to the rules by changing the meaning of words, such as the word MUST actually means MAY. No government authority has any power over any person, but this is not an avenue to go down without a lot of research and a full understanding of the subject first.

I know that everyone should respect the law, but some of these laws seems to be outdated. I live in Greece, and a few Australian friends from Adelaide came here for vacation. We discussed about Australia, and they were amazed that I knew a lot about Tasmania, which, as they said, many Australian kids even forget to draw on the Australian map! I told them that there are a couple of Tassie guys like you and Rob who make Tasmania and of course Australia very well-known globally, and that they could be the best representatives of Tasmania's tourism industry, ambassadors of Tasmanian heritage and healthy "influencers" to younger generations. And Tasmania's beauty should be shared in all over the world. Beauty cannot be hidden for long...

I'll be moving to Australia soon and would not have knows about the requirement to get a license to film a simple KZread video. A recent search for Queensland apparently shows me it's ok so long as it involves less than 10 people, and I hope Tasmania can follow up with a similar approachable rule that can apply to the many KZreadrs that promote Tourism for the parks. It's amazing how many things I'm discovering are done simply for Tax reasons and not what's actually going to make the most sense. I was drawn to your channel by the sniping (my favorite) and have also loved the freedom you seemed to have to roam that amazing wilderness. Sounds like the government wants you to jump through some hoops because they see you may be coming up a little bit ... and they always want a piece of the pie. Keep filming, I am going to keep watching!!

You have responded positively , there should not be any reason as to why they can not give you a interim permit as it is your income !
