Jay, you turned me on to this during your early videos and after that I ran two tour groups to France. Each group had kids and I got them into the game. I made it a contest with a monetary prize. Wow did this keep the kids heads up looking at the city. The parents could not believe how well it worked and praised me for the idea. Credit was given to you and the street artist. If you have kids on your your trip to Paris or you are a kid(me) then you need to play the game! Thanks Jay!

Totally agree with the comment above! We took our 10-year-old son to Paris last year and he LOVED playing Flash Invaders! He was happy looking for the mosaics, which allowed my husband and I to enjoy other aspects of strolling through Paris. I was so glad to learn that this exists in so many cities!

Yayyyyy! I looked all over when I was in Paris last summer. Every time I found one, I was ecstatic…but, I had a difficult time distinguishing between the real ones, that I got points for, and the fakes. Both in Marseilles and Paris, I kept finding lots of fakes. But, you’re right…it IS a blast to look for them!

The fact that I’m getting to understand the lore behind all those icons is nothing short of amazing.

We visit Paris every couple of years. Several years ago, i started noticing the Space Invaders, but, i had no idea of their intent or history. There was still something about them that was engaging and that invited looking more closely at places I might have missed otherwise. I remember asking my wife, "Have you noticed the little tile pieces that look like space invaders?" She hadn't. We kept seeing them on subsequent trips, and finally, I saw one of the videos where you're hunting them, and we were hooked. I didn't load the app until last trip, so my score is pretty pathetic, but, when friends are going to Paris, we always suggest they join the search.

La démarche artistique - L’invasion - a commencé le jour où Invader a posé le premier Space Invader dans une rue de Paris, près de la place de la Bastille en 1996. Cette œuvre, maintenant recouverte d'une couche d'enduit, est pour l'artiste devenue un Space Invader fossilisé, pris dans les sédiments de la ville. Le programme de cette « invasion » commence réellement en 1998. Paris, considéré comme son berceau, est le lieu de la plus forte concentration de ces « virus urbains ». Invader se définit lui-même comme un hacker de l’espace public propageant dans les rues un virus de mosaïque. La rue est sa toile, ses interventions des dons à la ville et à ses habitants.

I second the fun. I won’t say I plan travel based on where there might be some but I do check to see if there are some where I’m going.
