    Thanks. Your videos has become a necessity for me now making learning easier. I have a question for you. I have see videos how you handle the planes when landing and in various maneuvers, not only here but in RoF too (In good control). This is reason I want to ask if you can make more videos on spin recovery? Or is the Eindecker video apply to most planes?

  • @RequiemsACTL

    @RequiemsACTL

    9 жыл бұрын

    The spin recovery videos in this channel are pretty much what you need for the procedure. Spins #1 - Upright Spins Spins #2 - Inverted Spins Just take up an aircraft and do nothing but spins in it for a while. Repeat the process to yourself as you do each step and you will get it, I promise! For RoF though some of the spin recoveries are individual to each aircraft, but in a case where the standard method doesn't work, you can find those procedures in the RoF manual.

    Thank you - very helpful. As an extension it would be useful to have a video that discusses the pro and cons of setting up views in certain ways. For example I have been using servers that allow padlock and my views are quite zoomed in. I am now trying more realistic servers and struggling to spot and track planes - perhaps I am too zoomed in on my views?

    Hi Req, great channel. Thanks for the effort. I have a question about the default view... When I saved the default views (eg centre view or rear oblique), it doesn't seem to apply to ONLY that plane, it seems to be applied across all planes... Am I doing something wrong?

  • @RequiemsACTL

    @RequiemsACTL

    9 жыл бұрын

    Mathew Sher Hi Mathew, a default view should be solely for the aircraft you save it for and not for any other aircraft. There are files with a .svc extension for each aircraft (and gunner positions) you can find in the /data/luascripts folder which save all these snap views individually. It really shouldn't be saving a view for all aircraft. Something sounds off so it might be a bug. You could try deleting the .svc files there and starting fresh, but make sure you back it up first. New .svc files should be generated upon launching the game.

    F10 doesn't work like it's supposed to for me. I have a problem with my hotas. I hit right on the hat switch and it doesn't do anything unless I hit f10 while holding it down, but then that makes it so that f10 is now my default center view. It does this for all axes except forward right and backward right, and up/forward. Every other one is broken.

    It's actually handy for TrackIR users if you do not want to use a default center view that has the gunsight dead center. Spacially I like the view center and high in all aircraft and just lean into the correct position if I need to shoot with TrackIR. I also prefer the default head position further back to reduce the amount of occlusion the struts in some of the cockpits take up and get better instrument views. Custom snapviews is a great way to do this.

    I see in youtuber's videos their head movement is so smooth and fast in pan mode, is this because they are using Thrustmaster sticks? Is there a way to get it that smooth and fluid with a 3d Pro?

  • @RequiemsACTL

    @RequiemsACTL

    5 жыл бұрын

    The stick you use shouldn't really matter when using pan view. I used to have a logitech 3D pro myself and would use the hat on top to control my views. You may need to tweak the speed and inertia settings to your liking so you can get smooth movement.

    There should be a diagonal move I think...but I haven't used it in years due to TrackIR. Look under settings, pilot head control. Those head snap positions should correlate to movement on the POV hat I think.

    The Air Combat Tutorial Library thanks, I’ll look for that setting! I just realized a bigger problem though: when I push f9 to change camera mode, I get the notification that the mode has switched, but it doesn’t change from how I actually use the hat to view. I don’t have snap camera controls mapped, is that why? Anyways, no matter what is says for which camera mode, they all control the same, except for in anything other than pan camera, for which when i use pilot snap position center, it zooms in. This is all very confusing, do you know of such an issue?

  • @RequiemsACTL

    @RequiemsACTL

    5 жыл бұрын

    That means you have two controls assigned to the one button. You can see when this happens when there is a little orange box in the box that tells you the control assignment. If you hover the mouse over it it will tell you what other function that key is assigned to. I use multiple keys for different functions in many cases (for example water radiators and cowl flaps on the same key since an airplane won't have both), so it's a useful feature but you need to make sure nothing is interfering sometimes.

    My track IR is stuck at 3:00. Tried you method... the keys don't respond as you show. After finally getting it lined up, hit F10 and turn the IR back on using the F9, it when back to 3:00. Exited, turned IR totally off, set things up - after finally getting keys to behave - saved, then exited to turn IR back on and restart... still screwed up. View is stuck centered at 3:00. Will uninstall and reinstall... will have to set everything back up, or maybe say F this and stick with DCS. --- Update: After uninstall and reinstall, problem is gone and - oddly - all of my control setting were reinstalled as well. Odd, but I'll take it. I had run with no problems before, only had the BOS for about a month, when it went goofy. May have hit a command I wasn't familiar with, causing the problem, then couldn't get it to go away.
