It’s speculated that us Basques originated from the Aryan mountains, which I’m sure you know, is part in Iran, before migrating to Iberia where we now reside. I’m from Pays Basque, France but live in the US now. I really miss the Basque Country (both the parts in France and Spain) but I do love the US as well. I think you’re possibly the first Iranian I’ve knowingly seen on the internet in the 30+ years ive been on the internet. Pretty cool what we can do today. Greetings from the US and I hope the hostilities between our nations ceases some day.

No hate, but basque and catalonia are not separed by pirenees only, there is also the valley of the ebro, you have to cross navarre and aragon.

@therealeternalzoroarketern9018 No. Iberian-caucasian language family is not only proven to be a fully independent language group but also older than Indo-European. Basque is part of this language group. It's fully established and recognized by philologists. Bruh, it's called IBERIAN peninsula. Us and Basque have many things in common. We even have the same exact last names.

Also Georgian has a much more complicated sound pattern than Basque, and there aren't cognates apparent between the two languages to prove they are the same. Linking the two languages is actually discredited nowadays.

@@hirandompeopled4968 Unfortunately, no. My parents and the region where I live speak it, but I don't. I just understand a 25-30% of the speech ( Tmaziɣt n Arrif ). Because there is many accents. If you are interested to learn it, I know some people who can help you.

As a Spanish person, basque is definetly one of the most interesting languages and cultures out of all spain and even europe. I hope some day nationalism and terrorism are removed from people's prejuicies towards basque people and we can be a united nation again.

Btw Euskal Herria doesn't directly translate to Basque Country. I cannot think of a good translation, perhaps in Spanish you could say "Vasconia", not sure if it is the correct translation tho. (I am not Basque anyways) Euskal Herria comprises the territories of Navarre, Iparralde, Treviño and Basque Country as far as I know.
