I had to buy a new table top twice in the past two years as I wore them out whilst working from home during the covid lockdown. The adils legs are quite durable and just I easily swap them over to the new table top. This is a great system teamed up with the Alex drawers as you can just buy a bigger desk top if you need more space over time e.g. need a larger computer monitor. The ikea signum cable tidy is pretty good but costs almost the same price as the desk top in the U.K.

you should invest in Karlby, it is a kitchen worktop from Ikea, more expensive than the average table top however the Karlby is much more durable

Is it possible to shorten the legs by about 6 inches by metal cutting and removing the bottom adjusters and refitting them to the now shorter top section?

I tried using a normal screwdriver, it’s very very difficult. Only managed to install one leg. I’m going to borrow an electric screwdriver now

They are quite durable. I've taken mine apart loads of times and re-used them on replacement desktops.

I have 2 questions. First is do the holes on the Linmon desktop come in already and do olov legs work on the linmon?

if you’re bodybuilder then it’s possible. i bought 6 and it takes 2.5 hours to assemble. cons: screw tighten process is fcuk your hand. if possible, use rubber gloves, it helps a lot.

Yes, but you have to precisely make screw holes and attach the connector plates that come with the legs it's a tedious process. Better get a white Ikea table-top and attach vinyl to it.

Very good question. I found a typical screwdriver did not work.. I had to go out and buy an electric screwdriver that did not make me happy. They should have designed it with a hex screw
