I never realized that Sammy Davis was the ultimate entertainment who was really creative; (singing , dancing, comedian, acting, playing music, as well as poetry/ rapping) and multitalented, Ike and Tina was funky and stylish. Tina was maybe was one of the first to to dance, with an eclectic voice. Nice video.

@Rasbiff
6 жыл бұрын
"Rap" is not really a new thing. "Rap" literally just means a talk or a speech, but long before hip hop it often referred to a rhymed and/or rhythmic speech. You can see Muhammed Ali pulling that stuff off in interviews and press conferences, and it was a big thing in "blaxploitation" movies of the 70's. What happened in the Bronx in the mid- to late 70's was that during dance parties - at which a DJ would play old funk records, preferably with a good ear for the best breaks and loop them - an MC (Master of Concert) would introduce the DJ, often in the form of a rap, *just like Sammy Davis Jr. is doing here.* In other words, a rhymed rhythmic presentation - a *rap* - was already a long established form of expression when hip hop got started.

Del Guerrero. You are kidding, right ? I don´t mean any disrespect on your taste in music...there are lots of fans of Miley and Bieber despite negative comments on both...we all have different taste . I wouldn´t want a society where a select few choose what they want all the rest of us to see and hear (like in North Korea). I can´t imagine your idol Miley singing a Tina Turner track just as good or better because her style is totally different. The other way around, Tina wouldn´t sound good doing Miley material. Anyway, that´s your opinion and you are entitled to it.

Besides the incredible vocals, Tina was in charge of the dance routines too, and worked with the Ikettes to put them together. These were very hard working ladies who took their responsibilities seriously. Notice how great they looked; the act was beyond exciting but never cheap. There is a difference. Nice video.
