iKamper Disco vs Tembo Tusk Skottle || Overland Camping Stoves

The Tembo Tusk Skottle vs iKamper Disco; a true David vs Goliath comparison. In actuality, we compare both of these overland cooking systems head-to-head and determine if the iKamper Disco is worth the addition $100 in price. The views at Kavanaugh Ridge provided an incredible backdrop for this video; we hope you find it helpful!

    Good job on the comparison and review. I might add one thing that may be important to some viewers. The TemboTusk is designed, manufactered and assembled in America. It is an American made product. Thank you.

    American-made does not guarantee quality that is obviously lacking here. You can tug on the heart strings all you want, but it wont make the product any better.

    @@RhinoOffroad well, if you think along those lines, you are running of things to be proud of. You are driving an american icon, with Italian engine and German transmission, likely assembled in Mexico. For me, quality comes first, but I would opt in for equal quality American-made any day. Yet one thing I will never do is buy Toyota or Land Rover, or Mercedes adventure vehicle for that matter. So as long as Jeep does not have a Fiat logo on it :) Btw; love that American-native elephant on the logo. Very authentic.

    I have a skottle and love it and wouldn’t switch based on one thing - no teflon coating. Although there is an ease of cleaning, it is a toxic chemical. About 10 years ago I got rid of all chemical coated cooking pots and pans, opting for cast iron and stainless. The skottle fits my lifestyle and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Absolutely.

    I have both and ikamper wins hands down. It’s more modular (diff ways to use it like over a fire hanging, the stove can be used as stand alone to cook on a frying pan etc, and then regular way to use it) more features (skottle handles, better cutting board)and better quality materials (non stick skottle can be cleaned with just soap and water, the whole set up feels premium)… tembo is not bad but after using the ikamper one I never went back..

    Between teardrop camper prices and this, you need to make 6 figures to afford to go camping... IMHO, anything attached to a name like "overlanding", will cost your shorts

  • @efromhb

    @efromhb

    Overlanding has been the go to phrase to sell off-road/camping gear for years now. I laugh at it. Most people are not "overlanding". Not many are actually crossing continents. People have been off-road camping for over 100 years and only recently was this term coined. Silly. Keep on overlanding. I'll stay a camper who off-roads all over the southwest US.

  • @RhinoOffroad

    @RhinoOffroad

    Жыл бұрын

    I totally hear what you're saying, but I'd also argue that the definition of the word "overlanding" doesn't really matter. I think what most of us are referring to is buying overpriced gear to spend days on end driving while searching for the next killer campsite to enjoy an ice cold beer with friends. At the end of the day, as long as people are enjoying what they're doing and why they're doing it, does it really matter what you call it?
