In mtech I am pursuing civil engineering but I decided to do a career shift to data science, in btech too I had civil engineering, and no I did not do my btech from IIT

Non core matlab not your core. For CSE students, other branches are noncore. For ECE: CSE is noncore. But generally speaking, when people say noncore, it means only CSE. Non-CSE can apply in for CSE related jobs. ECE/EE is different thing now.

Content was spot on bhai, thanks. Great to find your channel at the right time. Need some advice. I'm 2021 Civil pass out from non IIT ... took drop for GATE to target PSUs , Gate 23 was not good, again dropped for Gate 24 & got 521 rank with 736 Score. Im General Merit so no PSU as of now..... I'm confident of getting into top IITs as per the cutoff reports, but question is should I join Mtech in IIT now with so much gap or prepare for next year to target PSU about which Im feeling confident because my score has actually doubled from gate 2023 ..... I have started a full stack software training course of 5 months with placements as a backup. Would appreciate your suggestion brother. thanks

If you have a backup for placement then you need not take admission for mtech, because as per your comment you seem to be interested in preparation but not in Mtech, if you are taking mtech for placement as a backup and you have that according to you then I think you should not take MTech

How does one prepare for data related roles like data analyst/scientist , I mean, is there any elective course during mtech in iit in which we can learn the right skills required for clearing these data related roles during placement assuming I'm completely new to the IT domain? Second ques: Which specialization should I opt from only placement perspective and in which IIT ? Thanks u

@@ach-ln2nn I am completing my masters this year from IITM. I too took a gap of 2 years for gate. To be honest no one ever asked me about the gap years in any placement interview and only one company had a requirement for 'no gap', other then that it does not matter. I got a job on first day of placement and in data science profile. So don't worry. I am happy that I took the decision to pursue masters in IITM rather than going for a rather safer but less attractive offer. Also, I did my bachelors in mechanical and shifted to artificial intelligence by taking correct courses in IITM and AI research project in masters. I hope this helps!!

@@ach-ln2nn my genuine advice is to either do mtech wholeheartedly..learn relevant skills or prepare for competitive exams... from my experience trying for both is kind of reducing the chances of any...
