As someone who's done multiple speeches, I can see why the director lost patience. The most insulting thing a person can do, is not listening to the person who is speaking for you. Judging by the girl's immediate counter-behavior, the director must've warned her multiple times. If you can't sit still without talking to your friend, then you should've sat behind. Talking and disturbing the people listening while sitting in the front is disrespectful. I'm surprised that no one said anything about this.

1:51 the director had already said Okay and was about to go back to the stage but that another teacher (over smart) had to further escalate the situation.The girl was also seen gossiping in the video on two occasions, she might have thought the teacher didn't notice her as he was facing straight but he had good peripheral vision and instead of owning up her mistake, she was arguing.

Professors are professors. After years of grind and their phd phase, they have come to teach. If I were at her place, very first reaponse would be to bow head and immediately say 'Im sorry'. If required, I will leave out. Do not argue with people of deep knowledge. Stand there in front a whole crowd and see how it feels to be ignored by turning back, giggling, and chatting left-right. I'm myself a student, 21 years old, in my final year phase. For all those who parrot "studonts rights", I know very well what many of us are. From copying in exams via bits, worst case even via mobile phone in exam halls, using CGPT to finish off assignment in minutes without applying any sort of thought processes. From last day before exam kind of preparations, to severe laziness hooked to phones for the rest of the days. From littering in your own campus to really challenging the B in B.E by always romancing and misusing your campuses. Are you guys really any fit to utter "studont rights". It will be you ferocuously hardworking pupils who protest later that you dont get jobs because govt. did not create for you. Superb! Slow claps.

Be it IIT Madras, where they have legal bars for drinks, be it IISER, I know the passion most students have. Without the respect for professors, nothing will fall into place. If the student really didn't do anything then what else will the student say. Teachers have a very low mental maturity in general. The professor in this video is 62(or at least he looks like one fucking pussy) anyways the girl is in her 20s. So imagine a person who is 60 years old fighting with a person who is less than half of that motherfucker 's age. So think how low that fucker's mental maturity is. Teachers need a wack. Waise bhi grades and marks really don't matter in life. Even I scored failing grades in school. Now I am studying in one of the best colleges of Mumbai. So in the long run it really doesn't matter. Unpopular opinion- sometimes a teacher who is a senior can lose their cool, it can be underlying health issues, mental issues, etc. Elder people do make mistakes, but its completely irrational and wrong to argue with them and pin them down. Just say sorry and move on. Don't make excuses. PS- she did turn back and was whispering something among her friends. Should have apologised right away instead of being like a toddler who says i didn't do nothing.

love this comment. People praising the girl honestly need help. Even if she didn't do anything wrong (I'm pretty positive she had done something, the prof ain't dumb that he'll start shouting at her for no reason) the least she could've done in the situation was just say a simple "sorry" end of story. The prof is also in the wrong here since he straightaway lost his shit and started shouting at her, he was even using the mic to his benefit and overshadowing the girl. We need to understand that he is aged and older people may react to situations this way. We all probably might have seen our own grandfathers be like this, have a sudden surge of anger at random (at least I have) . I won't say that his age should be the factor that justifies his actions, but this world is about understanding right? Is it not? It was sad to see how no one was in support of the old guy. They all turned against him and even applauded against him. No one showed even an ounce of understanding towards him. He had to face utter humiliation. I am trying my best to write this comment nicely, if I was at that place, I would've done my best to bring that little brat into her place. The audacity to straight up counter argue against an aged prof. It is fine to argue, at least try doing it politely. Plus, this is a situation where one shouldn't decide to argue since it disrupts the whole damn ceremony or whatever event is going on, a simply "sorry" is the way to go. This ain't your regular classroom where the teacher has time to hear your justification. Just shut up and let things flow. Seeing people like this with half knowledge of the context, and the way people at the place handled the situation, I sometimes feel Thanos was right.
