IIHS calls for better front crash prevention systems with new test program
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
A new, tougher front crash prevention test program at IIHS encourages systems that are more effective at avoiding crashes at higher speeds and those involving large trucks and motorcycles.

It hasn’t been sold it large enough numbers, and it would not do that well I *think*

@:44 the pause and the dummy flying in the air had me dying 😂.

Same! lol
Love how the IIHS is always pushing hard to improve safety systems instead of just settling. One day I’d like to see more vehicles start implementing forward cross traffic alert and red light running prevention. A lot of accidents are caused by people pulling out into lateral traffic or blowing red lights

AGREED!
I have enjoyed the IIHS since I was a kid in the mid 90’s.
Thank you IIHS for your continued efforts in making vehicles safer for everyone! ❤️ Without an independent organization like yourselves, manufacturers would be getting away with their ridiculous short comings and cost cutting measures ultimately sacrificing safety. We all owe you a massive thanks 🙏🏻 ❤
41 Mph? That's the speed of the frontal crash tests!

Should call for better driver training prior to getting a license

I think safety features make people worse drivers because they don't think they need to pay as much attention

that does nothing. Hitting something way more often than not has nothing to do with lack of skill. Most of the time it's distracted driving, and willing to bet every single one of them KNOWS what they're doing is wrong and dangerous, no matter how much they think they're capable of multitasking.
Keep up the good work, boys.
You don't need this on your car if you're a good driver, but it should be a universal feature. If I'm stopped at the back of a traffic jam, I want to know that any cars coming up behind me have something like this.
Great video IIHS!
I'm disappointed you didn't include Model Y in your initial batch of 10 vehicles tested.
IIHS, where are the British vehicles? No new/current Jaguar, Range Rover or Mini model has ever been tested. Some of us would like to see some tests results from UK-made cars and SUVs. Thank you.
Can we get the video results of each car though?
❤️🔥
Don't need that just need better drivers
Plz do Mazda biante car crash test
People need to take driving more seriously, lack of caring equals lack of skill for most people.
When will you do the 2024 Toyota Tacoma moderate overlap test?
please test this with Teslas, especially current ones with camera only systems. Teslas hitting motorcycles have been on the rise ever since they got rid of their Lidar system and swore cameras are all that's needed... but now re-bought millions of lidar sensors.

Tesla never had LIDAR. What's your source for motorcycle crashes being on the rise?
Thanks for improvements over the years, but are we not at that point to have better driving skills instead of more regulations and restrictions would be more beneficial for everyone? I mean if you do not have proper driving skills to drive your car, get out of the road and don't drive, period!

Thank god someone still makes sense. The level of driving skills, awareness, ability to read other drivers, are getting worse and worse. Nowadays, I encounter at least 1 driver forgetting to turn on lights EVERYTIME I drive at night. I’m not exaggerating, it’s literally a guarantee. Plus, 9 out of 10 (again, not exaggeration) of those drivers were completely oblivious to me flashing high beam to get their attention.
Subaru FTW
You need a special Tesla test. A fire truck with flashing lights.

Huh?
WHY IS TESLA CYBER TRUCK NOT REQUIRED TO DO CRASH TESTING??????????
The automakers are right, requiring emergency braking at 60 mph or above could lead to more accidents, not less, bottom line drivers need to be paying attention when behind the wheel of a vehicle, you can't replace safe drivers with technology, maybe actually shut down the cell phone at speeds over 55 mph if it's not connected to the vehicle infotainment system, it is really that simple

Jfc… and people wonder why bikes try to perpetually go faster than the flow of traffic…
Never buying a new car with all this crap on it.

you call it safety, but its just more autopilot nonsense. you make regulations for safety, and cars increase another 10k in price due to government regulations. Im sorry but when you get in a 2ton vehicle you know what your getting yourself into.
