The basics of using an electronic ignition spark tester tool.
Simple to hook up, simple to interpret. Works on modern cars just as well as old cars. Much better (and less painful) than the old jam-a-screwdriver-in-the-plug-wire-end-and-hold-it-near-a-grounding-point.

I pointed out the ceramic body, but I should have mentioned -- watch out for cheap versions that use plastic instead! They break much more easily and do a really poor job of insulating the spark (which both can be a shock hazard as well as make it harder to see the spark since it can "leak" in non-visible paths to the ground clamp!)
Growing up my dad showed my to stick a screwdriver in the plug wire and hold it next to metal. Glad I saw your vid.

Yeah, it works in a pinch, but it's definitely no fun if it arcs into your hand!

Can't use on a coil on plug ignition either...

It depends on the design of the coil packs, but on many of them you certainly can. Basically, as long as it uses “normal” spark plugs, the tester can plug into the coil pack.
1 week with no new video? Did you run out of basic tools?
