IGBA NZU: AFRICAN FESTIVAL OF THE EDDA-IGBO, NIGERIA
Igba Nzu is one of the celebrations that accompany the new yam festival. It is celebrated as a mark of appreciation to God for His protection and kindness in leading from lean period to the time of bountiful harvest. Again, Igba Nzu is also celebrated in appreciation to God for His mercies in sparing the community from the killer disease called small pox.
