What is scary that Iga has incredible work ethic, mature personality, desire to improve and really good team behind her. She is the most consistent player at 22. She is yet to reach her peak. I'm really curious what can she become. Obviously she is already amazing but she certainly can take it to another level. I love it.

she’s barely top 30 in terms of % of 1st serve points won. that’s really bad considering the rest of the game gives her an advantage even when her serve is weak

She's top tier in serve % and 5th out of WTA Top 10 players in points %, and she absolutely leads 2nd serve stats with 53.7% 2nd serve points %, out of WTA top 20 next are Keys with 49.1% and Collins with 49,0%... Rybakina is 4th and Sabalenka not even top 6

@@rhoclouds Yes, but as you saw in this match the first serve with 110-115 mph / 175-185 km/h was finally working. And the second serve is the best on the tour. The past at the moment doesn’t matter, just how well she serves in the final. In all other statistics, I assume she is on the top.

Iga’s ground strokes look different than the other ladies.. that racquet is SO fast hitting through the ball

Iga is just really something else lol I don’t think I have ever seen any WTA player have so much ammunitions and then with her insane athleticism. This is coming from someone who has watched prime Serena, Kerber, Venus, Azarenka, prime Naomi and the lot. Iga could easily go on to be the GOAT. Mind you, Keys is an exceptional player and Iga has made her look like a Rookie. Absolutely incredible

That's about as clean as Swiatek can play. Keys played very well in this tournament and did what she could today, but when Swiatek is this locked in, it just shows how she is the top player in the WTA. And before some tool says 'She doesn't win every single match she plays. How can she be the best. Blah, blah, robble, robble..." No one has ever, ever, ever won every match. Not even Djokovic, Serena, Federer, Nadal, Graf, or Navratilova. But it doesn't mean they weren't the best in their own way at some point.

Iga, when she's on, she is really a wonderful watch. i hope she will be the same in the final. rybakina makes her a bit tense, but she is more comfortable against sabalenka, i think. we will wait and see. two of the best three players on tour will play the final, should be good, regardless of the result.

If she spends another 5 years slaughtering her rivals, who knows, maybe she will be among Serena and Steffi...

I'm not a huge Iga fan, but the way she relentlessly crushes short balls is truly incresible and thats why 95% of the tour struggles against her, they are so used to being given 2nd chances to find their rythem and Iga isn't doing that. It will take Elena or Aryna in Slam Winning form to beat her here. Also south out to BHM for taking a set off Iga in the last round.

If you don't have big weapons (i.e. big serve and return), Iga is totally unplayable. No-one is even close in slugging it out from the back.

I saw Maddie Keys live in Cincinnati almost 9 years ago. At the time there was no doubt she had the power game and the serve to compete with the elite players -- a big strong hitter from the American Midwest who could only get better, a projected heir-apparent to Serena. Inconsistency has plagued her. She made one major final (US Open 2017) and two other major semis but has struggled to advance deep into tourneys in the recent era. At 29, her best attributes still seem present, and it is nice to see her in a semifinal in the company of the great East European champions. Alas, too much Iga, an all-too-common story.

Maddie did her part..... elimination of Coco and Ons was very convenient for Iga. They are actually players who could have troubled her in the semis. They're better defensively and mix it up a lot. Madison should've had multiple slams like Davenport at this point. She just has never learned how to control all the errors she's prone to making. It's a shame because she has such a solid game when she's on.

The shot many women hit but almost no man would is squatting almost to the ground and swing when pushed at the baseline. They didn't want to take a step back and just sit down. My guess is they feel comfortable and stable enough to take such a shot because their hip is wider than a man.
