Overture Man smells like a rich chauvinist traditional brash man yet with a warm heart

Overture man is 100% my next full bottle from Amouage. The first 2 or 3 times I wore my sample, I straight up didn't get it. Once it clicked, though, I could NOT stop smelling where I'd sprayed. It's just incredibly luxurious, rich, and as you said, prickly. It almost smells *sour* if you smell it up close, but in the air? An olfactory blessing. Your Amouage recs have been precisely aligned with my tastes so far.

i went for Black Touch by Frank Oliver and Lush Vetiver by Zara. both are great alternatives to Terre De Hermes.

Everytime i go on decant sites... 40 knots is sold out haha but terre de hermes is 🔥

The more I think above it I think people not really into fragrances complain about performance because they don't have a large collection and think everything should last all day for their money. In my fragrance journey I have found some scents to be great for half a day then I want something else. What you said about fragrances becoming nauseating is so true. Some super "beast mode" scents are sometimes too much and make you feel sick after smelling it all day.

ok, i got my nose on Overture Man. i really liked it. the wearer must be confident and match this scent to the situation. that said, its pretty special.

Love Brioni 🤵🏿‍♂️Éclat ❤! I bought it last summer and really enjoyed it , in some ways it reminds me of Tygar with the grapefruit and ambroxan at the base but more musky , transparent and classy with the rose 🌹 a classy daily fragrance for spring & summer but can be casual at the same time.

Overture Man is life-changing. Top 3 of all time in my rankings.

TDM EDT is still the best one of the line. I actually got a comment outdoors. A woman 20 feet away from me said "Wow someone is smelling good today." I have it on with a Parfum sample and EDT just rises above it. I love that flint smell. Not going to work for teenagers though.

Gucci Guilty Absolute: After watching this video, I went to a local Perfume shop, tested it and bought instantly a 150ml bottle. It’s soooooo good.

Wow another great video, completely love the raw honesty about certain fragrances. Definitely need to get my hands on some vintage and give it a try. Thanks for another amazing video.

Overture is not for everyone, I like a lot of Amouage but that one is definitely not my thing. But I love that it’s really out there. Amouage is not a safe brand and you will find something that makes you smell unique for wearing it

Finally got my bottle of Varvatos Vintage, it had been on my wishlist for a while, i truly love this fragrance, the way it affects me is indescribable, a 10/10 for me. Love Gambit as well, to me its closer to desirtoxic kind of mixed with percival so made more versatile, it is quite expensive but worth saving up for imo💯. Also u might enjoy 1 million golden oud, its being compared to gucci guilty absolu😂

I’ve sampled/bought several fragrances on your recommendation: - 40 Knots - L’Insoumis - Declaration d’un Soir - Brioni EDP Intense I’m currently testing fragrances that share the Terre D’Hermes DNA (which I enjoy) to see which I’m most drawn to: - TDH - TDH Eau Givree - TDH Eau Intense Vetiver - Declaration (OG) - Bleu Noir EDP I’m learning I often agree with your tastes, and find that I too enjoy the more polarizing fragrances the most. I need to revisit Gucci Guilty Absolute. The first time I tried it, I was repulsed! But I smelled it again recently in a store and was intrigued. I’m going to have to get a sample of that, and the others on this list soon! Keep up the great work! Edit: I also picked up a sample of L’Humaniste recently, and I agree, the smell is heavenly!!!

Gave vintage a try a year or two back after seeing it the videos. Bought a decant expecting not to like as the notes don't fit what I usually go for but man was it good ended up snagging a full bottle.

There D’Hermes Parfum is my current summer signature. I just got it and I am in love with that DNA. People say the flint makes it controversial, but I think it absolutely makes it. So good

I brought samples of L'humaniste and Terre D’ Hermes. Both wear good on my skin. Planning on getting full bottles. Thanks for the recommendation!

This video caused me to revist a sample of L'humaniste I purchased maybe last summer after watching one of your vids. I didn't care for it originally. Sprayed it and wow! Smells "Gentlemanly" as you often say.

Love this list. I do work 12 and sometimes 16 hour shifts though. I do have some that last for me for an entire shift though.

I have tested Overture Man based on your videos and damn is it good but super specific. The fragrances I have bought full bottles of so far because of you are: 1-Cartier Declaration D'un Soir 2-Gucci Intense Oud 3-BDK Gris Charnel 4-Xerjoff 40 Knots 5- Vertus Vanilla Oud 6-Terre D'Hermes EDT And like over 50 samples of others😄😄 Keep up the great and unique work !

Gucci Guilty Absolute I have a 100ml Blind. Did not like it at first, was using it every day for work. Just to use it up and make space, but stopped halfway through the bottle as I realised it was special and I liked it. I'll keep it long-term for special occasions. Smells like medicine at first but I've awakened to the boozy strong leather vibe when it settles to the dry down.

I definitely have Vintage because of you 💪🏾🔥 I definitely blind bought it 😂 and it's Great! 8.5 for me

Lets be honest, L‘humaniste is one of the most pleasing smelling fragrances that exist. Performance is a shame but the smell is so gorgeous.

I was expecting to see desirtoxic in this video 😮. I purchased desirtoxic and l'intense yesterday, because of your videos, just waiting for them to be delivered, they better be good! 😅

Love me some Gucci Guilty Absolute! It's definitely and acquired taste and not mainstream appealing but it's such an interesting fragrance.

John varvato vintage first time I smelled it I had 50 samples of niches... It was the one it stood out the most. Is similar to my nose to ch men prive vibes... Very pleasent a bit dark a bit sweet and boozy scent

Mind Games Gambit is something special to me. Tried it and a few of their others but that one stood out immediately! Had to take that one home... it's very pricey 😬

On my part I tried some, some were not available nearby, some are still on the list and some just sound like more your taste than mine... which just means it's not a high priority. It's fun to try something that may seem apprehensive at first only to discover a hidden gem. But really, I have plenty of fragrances. New ones don't compete with what is in the stores, they have to compete with what is on my own shelves.

I remember first trying Terre d'Hermes on a test strip and absolutely hating it. Then got a sample and tried it on skin. Complete 180 from what I smelled previously and I love it now! There's a subtle sweetness I get from TDH that I don't get from other designer woody fragrances like Dior Homme 2020/Sport 2021 or Burberry Hero. Maybe it's skin chemistry? Not sure but definitely need to get a full bottle soon

Thanks , I confirm about John Varvatos Vintage that I loved it from the first sniff , it has a special personality , but I don't think it is a good choice for younger people (less than 22 years old). And about Xerjoff 40 knots , I am really interested in it , but I can't find anywhere to try it , and it is expensive to buy it blind . Do you think it is safe for blind buy ?

I sampled 40 Knots and tested several times but it just didn't do it for me, it smelled awful off my skin. Now I will say, I did really enjoy Torino 21 and Renaissance 🔥👌🏽

Have you tried Tiziana Terenzi Ursa? It's like a stronger version of Straight To Heaven at extrait concentration 100ml stunning bottle for half the price as Kilian and most people agree its better. One of my favourite fragrances. Ursa and Laudano Nero alone make Terenzi one of my favourite houses, and they have more great under the radar fragances like Sienè which is like leather from Ombrè Leather with a woody green cypress note.

I don’t love the house of Tiziana Terenzi. Not because their scents don’t smell pleasant, but because many of their offerings are simply inspired by other fragrances. I actually prefer Straight to Heaven because it is not very strong.

Have you tried Ursa by Tiziana Terenzi? I hear it has more longevity and leans more Animalic. Do you see it as a good substitute for Straight to Heaven?

I haven’t tried it. But as I mentioned, I personally would not prefer for Straight to Heaven to have stronger performance, and I’m not interested in it being more animalic 😆 so Straight to Heaven is perfect for me. But I’d recommend getting a sample of Ursa if you’re interested

Have you tried Sacred Wood by Kilian? I love that scent and it's my daily driver usually since it's such a unique take on a Sandalwood scent

It means that most of the time, people will either really like it or not like it at all, without much opinion in the middle.

Gambit is easily my most worn fragrance. I wear it exclusively at work on cool weather days. My daughter follows be around the house when I’m getting ready for work and my gf literally moans when she smells the breeze I make when I walk by. It’s masculine it’s strong and dark yet fresh and clean at the same time. The ones who know knows gambit is 🔥

People would be all over the moon about Amouage Opus XI and be talking Gucci Guilty Absolute down. Interchangeable… And I agree with Overture Man: yum! And Overture Woman: also yum! Think about that Woman suffix in the Amouage Collection as ‘Elixer’ or Extreme’, nothing Woman (only) about it. In your words: “at least worth a sample”.

I would prioritize your budget over trying new fragrance samples! There is no hurry in this hobby. Nothing wrong with spacing out your purchases more than you’d like!

Overture, agree 40 knots, pass Isn’t it great that we all don’t like the same fragrances and smell the same.

Mind Games French Defense is one you have to get your nose on if you haven't already!! If you like cherry fragrances, then you will absolutely love French Defense

I'm a big believer in discovery sets. And they can be pathways to deciding to pay a lot for a fragrance that you've tried and liked. But a >$150 _discovery set_? Sorry, Mind Games, that's ridiculous.
