just became #132 for you and even watched some videos to give you the watch time! my goal is to reach 1000 by the end of the year without quitting because some days it feels hard to keep going when there are no results for your time and effort but i will keep trying to reach 1000 by the end of the year without giving up hopefully i can do it 🙏

If you're reading this my advice is don't stop posting. I quit for 3 years and now I'm struggling to rebuild. If you don't show up for your audience they won't show up for you. Thanks Marcus for the great advice.

I took a break for 6 months and started uploading again and I got 4 subscribers in two weeks. I got the subscribers from social media. I recommend getting traffic from social media or KZread shorts.

Congratulations on hitting such a massive milestone!

I decided to do a live stream last weekend, it lasted about an hour and I got 269 watch hours in 3 days so far👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 PS: I love your videos and your chill voice😊😊

When I started my KZread Journey 6 months ago I thought it's going to be way harder to reach the 1k followers than the 4k watch time. I'm at 760 Followers right now and 1k watch time. This video really helped, I'll try the playlist thing, thank you!! Good luck to all the other small content creators!

The playlist idea is actually great and i had never tought of it before. Thank you very much

2:20 this might help with desktop viewers but for most channels the majority of the viewers are on mobile and then on TV, the playlist won't show up like that but still it's better than nothing IF someone clicks on the playlist instead of a singular video which in itself has a lower chance...!

True, but there are still lots of viewers who aren't on TV. And it's not like doing this will negatively impact those TV viewers' experiences, most of them won't even see the links

@@Marcus-Jones yeah that's right, it can also be more positive for some types of content, like a series of videos back to back that some people wanna see them as a package(playlist) , smth like playthroughs my main point is that creators shouldn't expect to get a TON more views if they can't get any views on singular videos, playlists are useful when at least one of the videos in that playlist has alot of traction making people watch the others in the playlist, if that's the case I'd put the playlist in cards, description and even at the end of the video

The live compilation idea seems great. I have literally hundreds of hours of content, I could probably set up a 24/7 livestream with all of my “best of” replays running. And I’d be able to be in chat a lot during the day as well, to interact with people. Really intriguing idea tbh

Feeling so demoralized. YT just took away 70 views and with them the watch time. I did nothing sketchy and do not believe some random bots checked in on my videos. I am completely new here. Just 3 weeks. So I do not believe bots would even knowing I am here. So I have no explanation but to go from 183 to113 is depressing me.

Live streaming is working wonders for me. I’m more confident to get things done and ready to hire an editor to scale my channel. The average watch-time on my 2.5+hr streams is adding up!

Great advice as always! I have been using end screens but really nervous to do live streaming (both here and TT), but will definitely look into starting!

When I livestream the hours viewed by my subscribers doesn’t count during the stream. They only count if the stream is watched afterwards. Is this the same for everyone

I started exclusively livestreaming and had probably 0-4 concurrent viewers most of the first few weeks (0 being very common). It snowballs though. 7 months later I was over 4K hours and become a YT partner. And as I was typing this comment, I see Marcus added one of my other ones to this video, ha.

I have a fitness channel with classes - generally, people aren’t doing class after class. The goal isn’t really to get people to do multiple classes. Also, often people will watch the first couple of minutes to get a feel for the workout but aren’t ready to do it, yet. I worry this messes up what the algorithm thinks about my content because people preview & leave. Having a hard time finding marketing content for this slightly different aim

Hi ,our channel hasn't been going very long but we seem to be picking up subs quite well, but the watch hours is hard,! Making one long video combination of prior videos is a really good idea. I never would have though of that. Also I can attest that creating playlists does help watch hours.
