I always been told I was lazy since I was a kid. I'm a janitor and will admit a good one. I work hard and do a good job. I hate my Job but still care about doing a good job. I thought I'd always be successful but at 32 and still cleaning its depressing. My goal in life is to own a house with my partner who also works hard and adopt a dog. I feel lost. Feel like giving up isn't an option. Just want more peace, love and happiness.

I found your quote about telling myself that everything is my fault very inspiring. I feel that too often in the self-help, people are encouraged to work on self-love and to be patient with themselves. Profound changes can only occur if you can accept the truth (sometimes brutal) that your actions directly influence your life despite genuine intentions. I mean there’s nothing good about having a negative inner critic but no one else is going to be as accountable of you then you.

I started changing my life in 2018 & Tom Is definitely one of the people who helped me the most. I hope he knows how much he helps others. I am a recovering addict who was abandoned by my biomom as a baby. Raised by my dad, who instilled empathy, loyalty, honesty & compassion & who never gave up on me. I met biomom for the 1st time when I was 10, at 11, I was diagnosed with anxiety & depression. The day I met biomom, the butterflies came in my stomach & never left til 2019! I started self medicating as a preteen & was a full blown junkie at 14 years old. I had overdosed 4x & finally got clean when the universe intervened & made me a Mother. I was told I would never be able to have children because of my drug use, but miracles do happen. I named my daughter Hope, because she gave me hope! She saved my life. I have been clean for 12+ years. I am a medical cannabis patient, but besides that, I don’t even take any western meds. With binaural beats, meditation, people like Toms knowledge, & a lot of inner work, I have cured the depression, anxiety, bipolar, ADHD. Etc… I even lost over 100 lbs with no diet or exercise. I do exercise now, but back then, I couldn’t. I literally lost it by listening to binaural beats as I slept & subliminals. Our minds are more powerful then most realize. My goal, is to help as many people as I can. I am in the process of writing my book. My daughters old acting coach & manager said my life story should be a movie. I was kidnapped as a baby & held against my will as an adult. I’ve been shot at, had guns held to my head, shoved in my mouth, etc… & I’m still here, to grow & learn from my past. To help others with my past, knowledge & compassion 🤗

I discovered you a year ago. Since then, you've inspired me and have helped return me to a place of respect for a younger generation. As a Baby Boomer, with all we fought for, the world was magnetic - magic - things changed - and then it wasn't. We seemed to go into a holding pattern. Your ideals, what you stand for, the people you interview, the ideas you share are not only for a younger crowd, for entrepreneurs, etc., but also for those of us who look back and tend to stop learning (not me, but many). Thank you for sharing your passion, genius and "truth". If I'd had children I'd have wanted them to be like you. Much respect....

Hey Tom, thank-you for the value you provide to your community. I find your journey and your insights into yourself and the way you've grown over time to be inspiring for my own journey, as my beginning was not unlike how you describe your early years. A big takeaway for me from your keynotes has been focusing on why and having a vision that is bigger than just making a profit. So, even though I am just starting out and I do not have a tribe yet, you've inspired me to articulate to myself what the values and ethos of the tribe that I want to build should be. I'm already finding this to be immensely helpful, not only in that having a mission statement helps keep me inspired but also in that it informs my early decision making and illuminates the right path in a way that makes some choices easy that might otherwise not be. Keep doing what you do my friend. I just discovered your content recently but you're already on my list of favorite youtube channels.

2 years ago I experienced worst depression because my girlfriend cheated on me which lead to me getting overweight. I weighted like 350 lbs and I didn't want lo live anymore. Only thing that saved me were these very motivational videos. I decided I could change my life if I really want to do it. First started to eat less then I started going to gym. I was losing fat until I hit my plateau. I realized I need to seek for a help. Recently I discovered site Next Level Diet where I found out how to eat properly while working out. Their meal plan helped me continue losing fat. I have 180 lbs now. I feel better then ever. I am ready to continue living life to the fullest.

Yes 100% agree. The thing that comes across to me that I sooo valuable about him is his empathetic way of valuing EVERYBODY without judgment and is so humbley real about what he believes in that it exudes from his pores. To me this is huge!!! Ive always believed that if you find value in taking care of your ppl they they too will take care of you just for the mere fact they know that you value them. In todays corporate world this has been lost..I believe EVERYBODY wants to feel valued no matter where they go or what they do. So when they find it they never want to lose it because it feels so good and that IS EXTREMELY VALUABLE(pun intended!) I want to be a person like Tom that TRULY CARES about making a sustainable difference from the heart not from the wallet. The philanthropy in todays world is so NOT THAT. I will be the one to change this if its the last breaths I take.

I watched the first 15 minutes. Perhaps I didn't watch long enough, but I've seen about 1000 presentations that started off EXACTLY like this one. Same old story. I worked really hard. I made a lot of money. I discovered I wasn't fulfilled by the money. So I went out to discover myself and what made me fulfilled, and what happiness REALLY is. VERY IMPORTANT: (I now HAD the money and momentum to take as much time as I needed to go out and do that) The message is of course: "Money doesn't buy happiness." True, but we're always expected to ignore the SEQUENCE of events. I would argue money DID buy him happiness in an indirect way, in that it provided him the vehicle for him to take time to explore the world to find happiness. This is the SUPPORT money that WE DON'T HAVE. I'll trade this guy's experience for mine ANY TIME. Get the money FIRST. Then, I'll figure out all the lack-of-fulfillment stuff later at my leisure. That's not the "suffering" part. That's the FUN part. That's why we're all here on planet Earth anyhow. It's the banker's economic slave system which is the hardest thing for most people to overcome. If you are so inept as a person that you can't figure what makes you fulfilled AFTER you're rich, there's no hope for you ANYHOW. Nobody can help you. I'm happy for this guy. I really am. But his story isn't really helpful to a very large swath of people out there looking for their big life. Oh, and did I mention that public speaking is the highest paid profession in the United States? I know.... very cynical. And please spare me the "your problem IS that you're cynical" responses. One can't help being cynical when there are such obvious and fundamental flaws in things. Thank you.

Tom! I have loved and grown from all the interviews I've watched over the past five years... I have never known your roots however and what an inspiration to know all this and quite similar to my own ! Love how you can admit how " being right "was your driving " hold back " !! Such a stumbling block for all us bookish- slightly -socially -maladjusted over-eager types... I am going to listen to the second half again!! And send it to all my favorite students !!!

I first saw Tom Bilieu doing an interview. In the beginning, I didnt think anything. Then, after he wrapped it up, I was struck with the depth and profundity of his mind. Also, his utter simplicity, humility. These things struck me as unusual and untypical. He seemed like a person who has done a lot of inner reflection. Now i learn he is a top rate enterpreneur. Respects.

Tom, the reason that you can imact others this well is that you lived though it, you conquered your inner voice-critic, you genuinely love human beings and tap into their potentials. In early islamic world that was a definition of a Sufi master, their job was to fix humans and put them to next level. This journey of fixing people is the most rewarding thing ever. Creator is the most pleased with you when you do that, when you elevate his beloved project called human being, when you explain the rules of the game. It is a game, it is a sandbox for us, opportunity to mold and shape ourselves and then be shipped to the next world. Deadline date to finalize development, testing in QA and ship to production, is our death, which is hidden for a purpose.

There’s very few people I admire. Forget all those CEOs on those that just take over a company and people respect just because they sit at the top. That’s just politics. Being able to come from nothing and build something, that’s inspiring. That takes dedications, intelligence, motivation and determination. Tom is inspiring. He had a goal and achieved it in spades. These are the people I admire. It is people like Tom that I want to listen to. I’m not interested in listening to someone just because they have millions in the bank. I want to listen to people that have a story to tell about their journey to success. It might not even be money related as success means different things to different people. What I found really interesting here is the determination to be the best. Money is just a bonus. Bill gates wanted every home to have a pc. That was his goal.

Thanks for the kind words! I learned copywriting on the job. I read a LOT, so that helped. And I went to film school, so I took writing classes. But I've never taken a formal class in copy writing. If I were just starting out today, I would just read everything I could on the Internet. Sadly, back when I was just starting out there weren't as many resources online, so I'm sure much of my early writing was TERRIBLE. ;-)
