Hello Darkness, I MUST THANK YOU for being one of the of few channels who still read their stories and don’t use the AI app for the narration. I can’t stress enough how aversive it is to hear the lack of proper emotions and pauses even pronunciations, that AI narrations are. AI narrations literally give off a negative vibe to the point it gives me a headache. I especially love the tone quality and cadence of your voice and reading style. Very sexy and soothing. Thank you sincerely from my heart for not selling out to artificial tech and thus not being superficial and remaining real and keeping this a truly authentic human experience. Love you bro!

About second story,,I'm from indonesia, there are a lot mountain in here, and a lot of story about hikers getting lost in the mountain, they think they lost for couple hours like 6 hours, but the rescue team said they lost for 3 days.. the people in here called it spirited away, they penetrate to portal to the "other side" by accident or move by the entities (jinn). The other side, we called it alam ghaib or spirit realm of jinn. Kinda remind me urashima taro stories from japan

Well if you know this you are surely aware that in most native literature the skinwalker is someone who practices bad medicine and does highly immoral acts (which does grant them some powers). I find stories like these always so overblown since most of these stories seem to actually refer to the wendigo or the fictional rake.

My mom is Greek and my dad is Celtic (Scott/ire) and even they have versions in their cultures. I don’t think (bad joke on my part no offense) that all these cultures had a pow wow back in the day and were like you know what would be funny? Let’s make a skinwalker lore.

The power of belief, or faith, is a really fun point of interest when talking about folklore or similar topics. Then to go and give these things names and titles empowering them even more is great, and makes me think if these titles and tales we tell shape these creatures. Was there ever a monster that didn't exist until someone willed it into existence with such a strong certainty they saw one?

I believe there is such a case, I forget it's name but there is videos of people swearing up and down a fictional being with no face is seen at times irl. He's really tall, thin, and oddly no face on its white head. I want to say thin man, but I feel that's not correct. Anyone know its name and legend?

Somewhat related, i remember reading a published, peer-reviewed article in a journal about the paranormal where they basically created the life of a person: gave them a SSN card, birth certificate, death certificate, family tree, childhood trauma, career -- the works. Then they brought in a group of people and had them do a séance for the person. Aaaaaaannnnddd the person showed up. Table-rattled and everything. Knew the names of their "family" that only existed on paper. I read that in college 20+ years ago, but i always wanted to go find it again.

Wendigos are evil spirits that possess people that are starving to death and are willing to take desperate measures such as cannibalism, according to native legends around Canada. There are multiple stories of wendigos possessing people especially 100 to 200 years ago in Canada, especially in the northern parts. There’s got to be something to those stories especially since many Native Americans talked about them as if they were facts. I live in northern Alberta myself and I do believe there’s things out there that a guy just can’t explain naturally.

7:48 Moose eyes don't reflect light and their coats are very matte as well, which makes them extremely difficult to see at night, even close up. You can definitely hear them clomping around. Usually they don't follow people though. They either charge at you or they leave the area. I've lived in the foothills of the Alberta Rockies all my life. There are lots of weird noises at night, but you have to keep a calm and rational mind or your imagination will start to run wild and you'll freak yourself out (been there, done that). That all being said, I have had a couple of experiences that I should share one day.

I live in alberta. Theres a creek near where i live called Eating Creek, named after a Wendigo that resides in the area. My friend lives right next to the creek, and shes very into spiritual things and paranormal stuff. She saw something staring at her through her window that she can’t explain other than dark eyes and pale skin. It ran away and she screamed, then she looked outside after collecting herself and heard a yell. This experience was only 8 months ago. Ive been out there hanging around the forest with her quading and hiking, and we only just learned this wendigo about two years ago. That place always felt off to me, even as a kid. Now i might know the reason why

If I’m lying let lightning strike me down lol. But there is just stuff not even conservation officers could touch on and just shrug and say well, it’s not a good idea to be out here alone at those times. (I carry, and am an absolute hiking machine and take every precaution for food protection and hydration) and you won’t catch me in any woods unless it’s high moon in the middle of the summer time.

The first story is super disingeous to the MMIW (Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women) the disappearances of these women are not due to skinwalkers but human predators who prey on the weakest minority of women because they know the RCMP and police don't take their disappearances seriously. Skinwalkers are not why there are so many missing cases in areas with indigenous populations its the constant genocide and oppression of indigenous peoples by the Canadian government! Ofc someone with a hard on for being RCMP would come up with this. As much as it is a fun story it feels like borderline propganda to forget the very real issues in Canada.
