She touched the ball twice, which you can't do. It's as if the referee signals an indirect free kick, and the player kicks the ball directly without his/her teammate touching it. That's what happened here. The goalie passed the ball to her teammate who was catching butterflies by the looks of it, the rival player saw this and went for it, and the goalie had no other choice but to kick the ball again.

This rule is dipshit btw, why wouldnt goalies be allowed to kick the ball again after they hit it once. The ball should be free to play after the first touch and thats it.

@@Lucas_Tulic She did have a choice, she could have stood as close to the ball without touching it. Once the attacker touches the ball it is back in play. Quite difficult though to think of that in the heat of the moment

She was setting up her free kick, but she used her foot to do so from inside the 6 yd box. That counted as the first touch (but not in the mind of the GK), so when she did her distribution, that was a foul. The red card was for denial of obvious goal scoring opportunity since she fouled to keep the ball away from the attacker. Clever play on the part of the offensive player. She forced the ref's hand.

@@bridgetvirden2928 Nah, there are different reasons to watch both variants. Men sports are serious, competitive. Women sports on the other hand, are a parody of men's, so you watch them (and by 'watched them' I mean, browse through a couple of compilations here on YT) for the comedy.

Because women’s soccer used to be illegal and is a new sport of course they’re not as good as the men. They also don’t get paid as much so there’s not a big desire to become a professional. But give it a chance if you just watch the sport with the mindset like you’re bored you’ll find something you like. That goes to every sport. Even if they are women and naturally not as good as the men, it can still be fun because it is still soccer and no matter what soccer game you watch it’ll be entertaining because it’s soccer.
