Please, don't be fooled! That doesn't mean if u had learned all those words right from the moment u decided to learn French you'd automatically be at A1 level. It actually means that you've been leaning a lot right from the outset and eventually came across those very words. So, apart from them u know several others...

I tested for A2 - B1 and I knew them all except #4 (l’équitation). That’s the first time I saw that word. I don’t use that word because I live in an urban area.

I guess that was hard for English speakers, but for other romance languages, it was easy. In Portuguese it's "equitação", so despite not knowing it, I guessed.

Hello! I have a question. So I am relearning French. So I thought oh I could better teach myself French by learning the letter sounds and then sound out the word according to French sounds. But that is a horrible way to learn because you cannot sound out every single word in French. And neither can you do that in English. So would you agree that in French you cannot sound out each letter in words? So like French has vowel combinations that create a new sound and does not say the letter sounds for those letters? I hope I am making sense… Thank you for your time and help! In other words, you can say that in French there are tons of digraphs and trigraphs that make a different sound than the letters that appear on the paper? And when people talk about a phonetic language, what does that really mean? Idk why, but I took French in high school and I’m trying to relearn because I’m going on a trip there but I’ve never thought about language like this before. I think I’m thinking too hard about this too.

Madame alexa, J'ai seulement connais 6 mots que vous avez dit. (I don't know if this are grammatically correct) I only memorized the words that are common in my surroundings but I know more words which are around less than 600. Am I on the a1 even though I only know 60% of the words here?

If this is A1 level, I don’t need any more lessons. This was easy!

I was wrong as well avec ce mot. It starts with équi which is like equine in English which means 'of or relating to a horse'. Hopefully I'll remember it now.

Hey ! don't worry, we all start at the beginning with little or no knowledge it just takes time. It's not a race take your time every new word you learn is one word less to learn and remember , when you learn a new noun don't forget to learn at the same time if it is masculine or feminine like i did and then have go back and see if a house for example is masc or fem, so une maison .la maison.I'm sure you know this already but just saying for anyone who is just starting out and reading this. Bonne chance dans votre apprentissage.
