When I asked the personnel lady Mon, she says 'I'll look into it.' Wed, she says, 'I Have to get with this co-manager to go over peoples schedules.' Still no schedule. Some Guy, Good day. You're probably right. I'm glad you said this. Scary times. I apologize in advance for rhe essay 😆. Don't be upset. I just wanted to (long winded-ly) piggyback off of your comment. I can't fathom is how anyone thinks this is a good idea? Fyi, I just have a bunch of rhetorical questions. Why would anyone actually vote for that? I don't think ppl really know what " universal basic income" will do & how it will affect the genuine population who needs it the most. I don't think most of us understand the gravity of this. Those most in need won't see the devastation coming b/c ppl tend to blindly trust "certain ppl" & numbers. Trying to live off of $1,000 or $2,000 or so in this economy as the only assistance, will yield devastating results. That UBI must be used for for your "basic needs". If rent is $1,000+, how.....? What about food, incidentals, medical, transportation, phone, etc.? This means that those very much needed programs had right now, will go away. The ppl who need these programs the most will suffer in ways they never thought they'd see. Sadly, I know too many ppl who have abused the programs & they didn't need them. However, I'm not speaking of them. Only those who really need help. UBI would work if it would be allowed to supplement the absolute most important programs. Unfortunately, that's not how it would work. In a market where college grads have accumulated useless paper accolades to pay back & no jobs, social media changing how much ppl are getting paid, the digital age knocking long time workers out of employment, cashier-less or bare minimum cashiers, self checkouts, automation all around, etc., how is this is a good idea? How are ppl falling for the gov't's "love" for the ppl? They're feigning concerns & solutions (creating order out of chaos) like UBI while claiming massive debt. I'm sorry but my math must be off. I guess new math says national debt is equal to free money to give everyone. There are a few documentaries about somewhere in the UK ( I think; been some years since seeing) that describes how much of a struggle it is to have to use it for rent, food, medical insurance/medical visits/medicines, phone, etc. Some can't get a place. They couch surf or whatever but, can't do it all. They have to choose what's most important & even commit crimes to supplement. There was a doc where drug addictions were issues UBI was the income. I don't remember the names of the docs. I've seen a few of them. Crimes will definitely increase. Henceforth, why all the ever so frequent, sudden & convenient "$h00+!ng$" prompting gun control. Leaving most with limited to no way to defend yourself once the "Kraken" is released. Agenda 21 in full effect a.k.a. real life hunger games is my opinion of will happen much faster should this UBI thing happen. OK, enough rambling, good day.🙂

@@ThePurpleRoseWithAHedge I don't think Andrew Yang intends to remove all other financial safety net programs and replace them with his UBI. The question also involves the amount that a UBI would be. I don't know much about economics, but it seems to me that the new disruptive technologies of robotics and artificial intelligence will require some compensation by the federal government to avoid the effects of mass unemployment.

Bull Dozer There are many other factors involved in a person’s socioeconomic status that are out of that person’s control. As much as we’d all like for every human in the world to be given an equal shot at a good life, that simply isn’t the case. Oftentimes, if somebody is born into poverty, they will stay in poverty, working dead-end jobs at entry-level positions. This isn’t due to how the person was lazy, but rather how external forces prevented him from getting a better job.

+Styx The employment aspect is especially true with Wal-Mart. Several people I know who used to work there claimed they were treated like garbage, overworked, under paid, little to no benefits, no chance of advancement. I even know of one instance where a former employee was framed by management who accused her of taking money from the cash register simply because they didn't like her.

Lyft was my out because I'm handicapped, but I wasn't able to sign up until I finally got approved to lease the car I have now. Institutionalized poverty is a thing. Nobody rational is suggesting Walmart pay six figures, but they do need to pay a living wage and stop encouraging employees to get welfare. They're essentially forcing the rest of us to subsidize their employees through tax dollars because they don't pay people enough to survive. That's my problem with Walmart and corporations like it.

On top of that, you had your percentage of workers who weren't worth a crap, the ones who talked about their love lives graphically in the aisles next to you, some of the bosses helping out only the female employees, etc. The only place i worked that was worse than Walmart was when i worked at a factory. When I worked at target I helped unload trucks. I was tasked with pulling pallets out onto the floor. I was in 49 at that time. It was me another older guy pulling these heavy pallets out. When I asked why wasn't some these much younger crew members not doing this, Yeah I am that bold. I worked in the textile mills and until the company outsourced my job. I was da**ed good at it. Anyways I was told none were as fast as we 2 were. It was the same in the second target that I worked in. And these younger workers were mostly college students who felt rather free talking about their love lives and bitch how hard they had it in the store. With in earshot of customers.. Or rather "guest" as target calls the sheep to be shorn.

I just noticed that every video he does, while humorous and fun to watch is lacking one important detail. We as a people make everyone of the situation possible because we complacently spend our money then cry about it. Maybe we should vote the one way that work in capitalism. With our money. Dont like it dont spend your money. Like how I refuse to buy apple products because i dont like the fact they are fighting right to repair. Just a thought.

It's the correct way to end this, but corporations have a strangle hold on consumers because spending money is like being addicted to drugs for some people.

Being able to choose where you shop is a privilege of the wealthy, not everyone can afford to. I can, but not everyone can. How about instead you start setting up parallel power structures and encouraging mutual aid in your community to make the whole capitalist mode of production obsolete, it's about the only for of revolution left open to people in most countries these days what with increasingly repressing governments and political corruption backed up by huge police states curtailing democracy in Britain, Canada, the US and most if Europe and CIA backed fascist coups curtailing it elsewhere. It's less heavy on the casualties than a violent uprising as well.

In a country like the US, were most people can't even afford a single unexpected, 3 to 4-digit bill without going deeper into an already existing crippling debt, you either spend your money at the cheapest option or go without whatever it is you wanted to buy. The idea, to vote with money, works! But not when noone has the money to choose the more expensive option. The US is a beautiful example of why the market should not and will not regulate itself, and why the government is the lesser evil (in contrast to businesses).
