I just want to point out that before you guys say anything about the reflections is that, I cannot change them. These are shaders not graphics I edited in the game files. I just preferably like playing with reflections. Also you might see the sun and day time stuff.. again it’s just shaders, it doesn’t change what the game normally looks like. You would have to mod the game to get a night mode on all the maps. Also for those who want to know how to make the shaders work to clarify: 1. Download the shaders 2. Put everything relating to shaders into the Split/second folder 3. That's it. F11 to switch modes F12 to turn shaders on and off.

it works but theres raindrops effect on screen and i cant change it by pressing HOME,any ideas?

Every day that passes without a sequel to this masterpiece sucks away at my soul. This game was different, it had such perfect music, such good graphics and a great overall feeling. Sure it had its mistakes, but it was an actual attempt at doing something more than just a racing game. I need more of this. It is because of this game that I've been world-building for a while so I can have this same type of stuff in a crazier, time-broken world with even more insane explosions and so much more. It won't be a complete thing for a while, but hopefully one day it will, at least, be something people can read somewhere, even if just for funsies. But hey, maybe one day someone will be interested in the results. Screw you, Disney, for not letting a sequel happen!

@@corewalker1779 Happened plenty, yes, I understand. Most arcade or semi-arcade racing games have that issue, but S/S had a really problematic one at times. Still, restarting just meant listening to another track so I never got too mad about it. I had a similar experience with Full Auto 2: Battlelines.

@@corewalker1779 Never had that much of an issue. That's pretty bad. There is always a blue powerplay that is sure to get them though, usually when they are almost past it. Also, some cars have a weird driftting going on that actually gives you more speed at certain angles for whatever reason. Didn't have problems after finding that out.

Split/Second Velocity is that game where it should have gotten a sequel if Disney didn't shut the studio down in favor for mobile gaming. Even if the game didn't sell well, it would still be enough to make a improved sequel, with concepts that were cut, like there was supposed to be a boat chase where you are in a helicopter and you are chasing a boat, and it would have been like a action movie despite the TV nature

Something interesting about the game: if you were to load in all of the race tracks at the same time, you would be able to stitch all of them together in one large map. I think they were trying to make something similar to a combination of burnout and Need for Speed, using an open world map, but might have decided against it thinking it would be too generic. I could just imagine some developer being like "hey we have all these buildings, and check out this super cool destruction engine I found. Let's do it!" and proceeded to make the best arcade racing game known to man. It's almost like they were trying to make a movie, but made a game instead.

The dynamics and moods of each maps are pretty subtle, but you can feel what they represent because of the theme and the name of it. And my gosh, if this game had more fame, people wouldve been shocked by how wonderful the graphics are in 2010.

It's always been there. If you play the replay for the 3rd powerplay on this building, you will see a final cutscene of a crane falling. That's the hint about this pathway, but It's hard to spot, unless you see bots take it first.

Its actually has, but the asset was leaked while still in development, thus Disney scrap and cancelled the project. Pretty sure there is another reason why Disney cancel the sequel too but this is one of the reason.

This is like you play Need For Speed, but you set into Rambo mode, Die Hard mode or Terminator mode, which was Disney’s creation but with less violence, only explosions still violence, I’ll bet this is an inspiration of Micheal Bay.

Every time I come back to this game, I always enjoy the car sounds and the damm music so much

Woah, I'll have to check what mods there are for the game, just accomplished my childhood dream and bought it :p

Honestly the only way we get a split second sequel is if someone mods a race car track into Teardown and added multiple routes and events similar to powerplays that effect the racers and in some cases completely destroy parts of the track to create new routes. It would only be possible with destruction physics of teardown and all its models and assets.

FlatOut, Blur, Split/Second, MotorStorm and Twisted Metal were the tits in late 2000s to early 2010s but sadly, they are all dead.

Honestly, spit second would be fuckin thriving if it was a PS4 launch title or at the very least released on a different month.

I still have this game and it’s backwards compatible with my Xbox one S, but from someone like me that hasn’t really actually played that many driving games in my time I would consider this if not, one of the best, probably the best racing game that has existed to this point in time. Climactic, energetic, music that put you on the edge of your seat in the competitive mindset, and all of the different things that were capable of blowing up and the different roots being changed out, this game was a bad ass masterpiece. And yeah, I already know back then that black rock got closed down, so it unintentionally ended the chances for a sequel, but with how the game looked back then I definitely agreed that with how graphics of games look now, I can see that this is how this game would have loved if it had come out within the last three years alone. And may I say for the person playing this game, there’s been at least three or four, and I’m only through the first 5 to 10 minutes of this video, there’s at least 4 to 5 major drifts that I had never seen pulled off and I don’t mean the roots that he took I mean how insane the drift was in the fact that his vehicle almost turned completely around facing the other way, like he was drifting to a point where he was nearly completely sideways and I almost lost my shit during those couple ones in general and I thought I’ve never ever seen anyone dripped on a game recorded to be watched on KZread like this person has, but this game gave us some of the best drift in controls. I believe a racing game has ever given a gamer. It’s funny how games like Silent Hill 2 to have so much critical acclaim, and success that it’s considered one of them if not the best psychological horror game of all time, considering how the graphics were back back then and how the gameplay played on our psychology, but between the music, the sound effects, the driving controls, and the music of this game, this game came out at least 10 years ago by now and I’m willing to bet no other racing game has come close to reaching the top notch conditions, and variables created by this game back then.

No one speaks about the drifting mechanics enough, it wasn't just that the car was drifting. The way you felt the car lock up on you when it was time to drift made every single turn more and more immersive.

Split second was the best racing game ever made. Theres no question to it. It wasnt just the Cars, it was everything about the game. It was made to be a fun video game, but till this day i can only rely on split second to give me the true rush of Death Racing like we saw in the movies growing up. NOTHING comes close. I could sit here and explain every little detail i loved, but truthfully theres to much, the game was 99.3% perfection

The only gripe I have with PC Split Second is its FPS lock. Shame, but the game is just so good, shame it's also underrated.

It's not a normal racing game to which maximum are addicted... This 2010 split second velocity is an explosive game where the rival competitors trigger each other to win to the finish🏁... One who passes all the triggered explosions and reaches the finishing line, is the unstoppable.. When I become frustated, I see this also to remind myself as the EX SPLIT SECOND RACER

Only thing I had a issue was the auto save glitch. Just get past season 6 in one session and you should be safe to quit. That’s all though. Of course we can also solve that issue too

The pc version ths best out there, i have it on xbox 360 as well but the pc with half decent specs will leave the console ports for dust. Regards controls like others have said the controller doesn't work in the menus but i have a mini wireless keyboard that i have beside me to do the menus and an xbox controller for the main game, the controller works fine in the game and it allows you to even map your buttons.

@@Megalocade Steam can map the buttons to keyboard now. Its almost perfect. Using XBOX controller. D-pad to Arrow keys, Start to Enter, Back to ESC, X to Space and Y to TAB. In game, set View to TAB and Instant replay to Space.

It would have wet roads, of course.

Is not that Burnout Paradise is a bad game but this,THIS GAME is so damn AWESOME.Disney lost their opportunity again,why?,because they are releasing a new car game but it's similar to all of them that are out there,mario kart type.So sad that there will be no sequel,rumors back then were that it would be with story mode but they cancelled sadly,i wonder,why the fuck they want story mode in this game? leave that to Need For Speed,right?,maybe because of the ending that was like,we're in a race to win a cup but someone interrupt and then a story starts,doesn't need to have story mode,only this with new cars,new places to destroy,cross play and being of course larger than the original.

Disney rather take the pansy way out and switch to the mobile market, meaning that they ended anything triple-A related. Split/Second was the last Triple-A game released by the house of mouse's game division, and it was the last of it's kind. They just don't make games like these anymore, considering this was released in between Blur, an amazing Activision game developed by the guys who did Project Gotham Racing, and ModNation Racers, a racing game developed by the guys who would later develop Sleeping Dogs, but the irony is that people would rather wait until the release of Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2010 or Gran Turismo 5, with the former being an great sequel/reboot to the Hot Pursuit sub series by Criterion, and the latter being a highly hyped sequel to the real driving simulator. Wrong place at the wrong time, I guess.

It’s just named split/second. You drop it where you see the EXE file of split/second, that file is what starts up the game. If you just drop the shaders where the EXE file is it should work just fine. Save files are saved in documents which is either named “Black rock studio” or “Disney interactive” if that helps in your save file stuff

How exactly did you boost the FPS? My PC tops the standard at 30. This looks like 60.

@@scudb5509 I used an Ai to generate frames so it looks like 60 fps in some of my videos, I can't actually play the game in 60 without breaking the entire game. I tried this once "Split/second except broken" or something.

Wdym? Drifting with the firestorm just makes you go faster. If you press down on the gas a few times once you start a race you get a boost, you’ll get better at doing but a good step is to just press gas a little bit

The new map you are talking about was imported from console to pc. This game is capped on 30 fps and its recorded in 60 because I didn't change the video settings, but its played in 30 fps. Might just look smooth for you. Not sure but this game is very moddable, I added a bugatti chiron to the game once and it was incredibly fast. You can add custom instant replays which I already made a video on and custom colors, you can change how power plays work, its all just cool stuff.
