2:57. How could Shrek be charged for trespassing in an abandoned castle? No one owns it and I highly doubt the Dragon is going to be pressing charges instead of simply frying him to a crisp, nor would Fiona or her parents considering he rescued the princess from the tower.

Yeah since, Dragon though seemingly more sentient doesn't really own the castle it merely happens to live in it, Fiona is Kidapped there so yeah it isn't her home either so he's not really tresspassing as noone would care enough for that and would really be a thing on a structure noone owns.

Several charges could be removed from this list. The intimidation at the beginning was simply protecting his land from trespassers, him entering Duloc would be legal as he had a legitimate concern over his land and the uninvited fairy tale squatters, and all the knights were in self-defense as he did try to negotiate with them first and only resorted to violence as an act of self-defense when he couldn't negotiate with the knights.

5 possible 6 charges need to be removed from the first movie 1: the intimidation charge those villagers were trespassing on his land he has every right to chase them off given their intentions. 2: him entering Dulock (i think that's how it's spelled) was perfectly reasonable as he went to see their ruler to find out why every fairy tale creature was getting dumped on his land. 3: they were trying to kill him, self-defense as they were told to kill him and all that over him wanting Farquad to get all the intruders out of his swamp 4: does going into Fiona's prison castle truly count as trespassing the only way she could be rescued is by entering the place 5: the sexual assault was accidental as I'm certain it wasn't his intention to do that 6: False imprisonment cannot be applied her as it's a dangerous fire breathing dragon if anything he leashed an animal that could have done a lot of damage if left to roam free (which i know it was free after that point but Donkey reined her in pretty well

the first charge and the 15x assault charges are bogus. one is his property, and he is removing trespassers. the second is clearly self defense as they all want to kill him first

A lot of these were either unintentional accidents (like the dragon kissing shrieks bum) or donkeys doing (like the dragon being let loose on the town which technically donkey didn’t even do)

Two charges in the first movie should be removed. The guys were literally going to kill Shrek, so the intimidation charge should be removed, and then there's the brawl in the wrestling ring. That's textbook self defense

If anything that would be animal cruelty, not neglect. But considering it's a TALKING animal, meaning it is a human for all intents and purposes, and is not a child... animal cruelty can be dropped in favor of assault.

Honestly Shrek did a lot of good, for example in the first Movie he did free the Fairy Tale Creatures from his swamp, he also saved everyone from the rath of Multiple Villians like The Fairy Godmother and Prince Charming, so in my Opinion Shrek should be given a Pardon :) also for the Lord Farquad kill, in my opinion that was a self defencive kill, so I would also pardon Shrek for that

Counter Arguments: ~Shrek 1 It's not intimidation if it's his property. Shrek's property, he can do what he wants to people who trespass as long as he doesn't kill. First charge is nullified. You even gave the reason for the 2nd charge being nullified. It's not resisting arrest if there's no arrest being made. Could argue that there was, but with no enforcement there was no threat. Trespassing one I get, but there was no one at the gate aside from someone who was knocked out due to fear. Everyone else is at the arena. None of the assault charges go through, it's all self-defense as they were attacking him. All Shrek wanted to do was talk things out before he had to get defensive. Fair Deal, you give me the princess after rescuing her, I give you full entitlement to the land you own. All parties agreed with an entire kingdom as witnesses to the verbal exchange. Contract of the exchange, however, was made under duress, and therefore cannot be properly enforced, which would rescind the contract. Crop Field does not look to be destroyed, even with Donkey's 4 hooves. Only destruction is pulling onions off the plants for food. At best it's theft of edible goods, which only would be a minor misdemeanor at best. Needs changed. 2nd trespassing charge, nullified. He is there to bring Fiona to Farquaad as his champion ogre-knight. Old, decrepit castle, unowned. Charges cannot be placed without proper ownership. Not sexual assault. The Dragon kissed HIS ass, not the other way around. Sure, Donkey was the one who was going to receive the kiss, but Shrek getting in the way was accidental. The Dragon has been at that castle for YEARS at this point, so it was false imprisonment before Shrek even showed up. Can't pin it on Shrek for outwitting the dragon protecting the Princess as a crime. Kidnapping, I'll give you that one. She expressed no desire to go, he forced her and took her with him. It may have been his job but that is no excuse for his actions. Shrek didn't let the dragon loose on the town- Donkey did. Terrorism Charge removed. Crashing a wedding / Disorderly conduct, yeah, that's fair. He wasn't invited, no matter his feelings about Fiona. 2nd Resisting Arrest charge. Yep. No fault there. It's not 2nd degree murder- it's a person of royalty. That means REGICIDE. However, for the sake of your argument, killing Farquaad was never truly intended. The Dragon decided to do that on her own. Regardless of the fact that the dragon was called to attention, she is not a pet and therefore Shrek nor Donkey can be held accountable for her crimes. ~Shrek 2 Union member fraud is Petty Larceny, 1st degree scheme to defraud, & 2nd degree ID theft. $25K for defraud scheme, 12m jail & $2.5K fine for Petty Larceny, 6m jail max for 2d ID Theft. Trespassing is waived as FGM caught them and they left peacefully. Assault charge, Yep. No complaints on that one. Same for False Imprisonment even though he's not tied up or locked up in the closet. Burglary, plain and simple. No complaints. Reckless Endangerment - No. No one was fatally wounded or hurt in any way. Pushed due to flood of a magic potion, definitely. But everyone escapes safely. Property Destruction - No complaints. Illegal Squatting. Maybe. It can be argued (and those watching would confirm) it's just storm shelter. With pleasantries and offers to repay for the stay, it would then seem to be temporary tenants, same as a hotel / motel. They would be a 'customer' and therefore legally on the land- even if they entered illegally at first. Robbery - Blatant, no complaints. Dine & Dash is iffy, as it's not seen if they paid or not. Without more evidence we cannot pin that crime on them. Resisting Arrest, yep I give that one. No complaints, it's plain as day. Felony jail escape / escaping lawful custody, middle road for punishment, no complaints. We don't know if it's Shrek's idea to create the giant gingerbread man or Gingy's, so without knowing we can't blame Shrek for Terrorism here. He may be in command, but that does not mean ownership. He was asking a question- rather rudely and with anger, but a question nonetheless. Not intimidation. The entire play section is self defense. Agreed, no charges. ~Shrek Forever After I wouldn't call this Terrorism. Heavy on destruction of the entire town, yes. But not terrorism. Rumple may be the ruler but Shrek was not in custody. No charge. Property Destruction - Blatant. No complaints. Donkey was kidnapped in Rumple's leadership, Shrek rescued him. Charge revoked. No complaints on Sexual Assault here. It's a plot to free the wrongfully imprisoned. It's justice, not a riot. ~Extra Legal Assistance Double Jeopardy, one cannot be tried twice for the same crime. This would mean that any consecutive charges that Shrek is acquitted or found Not Guilty of, he cannot be charged of those again. i feel like another thing should be added to the shrek forever after case. what ever crime shrek is charged with wouldn't matter, since the story takes place in an alternative universe where yes, rumpelstiltskin is the tyrannical dictator ruling far far away with a golden fist. not to mention, after his world falls apart, shrek is traveled back to the roar at the birthday party, which was before all those crimes could be charged.

But, if anything, Farquaad should be charged for his crimes because of his enslavement and removal of fairy tale creatures from their homes and placing them on Shrek’s land, as well as trying to have Shrek brutally killed and have Fiona go back to the tower where she herself was enslaved. Shrek Forever After 1) I’m not sure how that’s terrorism because he’s only just scaring people. He’s not hurting or killing anyone. 2) Rumple Stiltskin is the ILLEGAL ruler of Far Far Away, as he made the real King Harold and Queen Lillian sign a contract they weren’t aware would make them disappear and die. I feel like any crimes committed against Rumple should be taken back, as he effectively committed regicide and illegally became the ruler of an entire kingdom. Not only that, but he ensalved the ogres, so Rumple should get a slavery charge added to whatever charges he has beforehand. Even he incites a riot of people to find and illegally arrest Shrek at one point.
