Extroverts can't process whispers, they have to hear it. I've made this mistake so much, I just tell my introvert friends "don't tell me your secrets"

That awkward feeling when you just mentally answer a message and now you have to decide whether it's less embarrassing not to text back at all, text incredibly late with a random excuse, or buy tickets to Mexico and change your identity

Messenger is the worse as you want to know what they have said process it and reply back naturally no matter how long that may take. But then they would have saw you have read it.

My favorite: "If you show up at my house again uninvited I will murder you." I never feel so trapped, as when the doorbell rings unexpectedly. 😬All were relatable.😂👍

The social shield is exceptionally accurate. I have a really good extrovert friend that used to drag me to parties. I did pretty well just allowing him to talk and enjoying the back and forth; one of the guys noticed I wasn't talking and took that as a cue that I should be engaged. Within seconds of him introducing himself and attempting small talk, I grabbed my friend by the shoulder, turned him toward the guy, introduced him, and they proceeded to talk for the next 30 minutes. Successful disengage, redirect, and extraction from an uncomfortable bro conversation.

@@cinnamon.squirrel we are really worst when it comes to tell about things that make us uncomfortable but if it gets really bad you can understand from the behaviors. We start to distance ourselves and even though it is not so obvious you can feel the coldness. If it is not like that you are probably safe 😅

I didn't know it was a trend between introverts to require over 10 hours of sleep to feel refreshed, I feel slightly less odd now.

I'd say "If you see me hiding from you, don't take it personally. It's just you." Though I have to say sitting silently next to my equally introvert friend, arms slightly touching as we searched for various clips to show each other at 2 am in Berlin (not going out despite it being, you know, Berlin) is true bliss. I never fell calmer.

Something I found interesting: I am an introvert, and I have an extrovert friend I played video games with a lot. There's frequently like 1-3 minute breaks in talking between games and I never thought anything of it. But then he brought up to me that the silence is so awkward for him and I was just shocked when I heard that because it seemed so normal to not say anything when nothing is happening like on a loading screen or when nothing is happening. But to this guy he needs constant conversation about anything but i don't know what to talk about ever.

Can we rewind to the showing up uninvited and add “don’t bring anyone with you and not say anything?” You know I’m only expecting you to be standing at my door, so why is a person I DONT EVEN KNOW, following you into my home?!

_I'm gonna use you as a social shield so, I don't have to talk to strangers_ This is what I always think about when my friends and I are in a public place

i wish i had another introvert friend... my only friend is a total social butterfly and she always drags me along to different social events 😭

I have friends that claim to be introverts so they think they get it, but they don't understand that I'm on the extreme side of introversion so I can go weeks without talking to them verses they seem to think one week is a long time.

Usually I don't tell my friends all my opinions, because I think it's wise. Lately, I've been speaking up more, because it's sometimes necessary, and I'm tired of being pushed around, so I'm pushing back 🤷 I might be introvert/extrovert, but I always enjoyed my alone time, and enjoyed being social as well. I seem more introvert now, because I've become choosy about who I want to spend time with, and it's narrowed down to 0. My favorite line is, " I'm still social distancing." and " I didn't get the vaccine yet (which I may never do)"

The main role of my boyfriend in my life

I feel you on the "if you don't call me too often, i wouldn't let you go on voicemail". Coz that's my reason for not answering people back too. Just when i have the courage to call back, the same person keeps calling me back and i end up just leaving it as miscalls and hope whoever's calling, doesn't call again. Same goes with msging.

My extrovert son walks in to see me and says: "How can you stand living such a boring life" I say: "I thought I was having fun." True story

As an introverted ambivert, most of these were spot on. I cope pretty well with social interaction, but I only really respond to or hang with a very select group of people. 😅

i honestly wish people would stop calling!!! If someone calls me, I usually let it ring and then reply back with a text "whats up" hahahahah But I honestly just despise being on the phone so so much

I've set up a boundary with my friends that they have to text me first to see if I'm available if they wish to chat on the phone. Still doesn't take away the despair of avoiding phone calls but it's a start 😅 semi gives me more control over when it's okay to have them 😅

@@SamElle 100%. It's okay to NOT be available to our friends all the time at any given moment. If I could, I would go a step further and go back to writing letters to everyone like they did back in the day 🤣🤣

I'm that Lucky person, who have friends that understand my introversion, and i was already honest by saying all of what you mentioned. And i still have those friends. God bless them.

I love it, as an ENFP i'd love being someone's social shield. Finding those silent introverts in social occasions and getting to know their mystery. I love adopting introverts and helping them do the social things they want to do but never have the enegry to. I am also terrible at messaging so its totally fine, I like the way we have one month gaps between our meet-ups because this way there's a lot to talk about. I absolutely love my INFPs INTPs INFJs etc.. You guys are my shy cute kittens!

As an INFJ I really appreciate people like this, one of my closest friends who's an extrovert (probably ENFP) is always my "shield" at parties etc. Though when I'm drunk, I can more easily socialize with strangers lol. Most of my friends are extroverts so they are all kind of my "shields" at social occasions.

I should send this video to my friends & my parents so they could finally understand, without me having to tell them in person, why I don't hang out that often with them & why I prefer text messages over calling each other. 😂😅☺️ I relate so much to '' oh, no, I can't hang out on Saturday because I've already mentally prepared myself to do nothing all weekend'' so true!!

I love voicemail. I don't have to answer the phone. If the voicemail is something important I can call back when I'm ready.

"Me needing time to recharge or disappearing has nothing to do with you and everything to de with me needing time alone to recover myself and my energy. Taking it personally, taking it out on me, exploding at me or being passive aggressive about me trying to be myself just makes me less likely to open up to you in the future." kinda goes for anything but this is what I wish I could say to people. Luckily I got some cool people who get it. Who especially get that i may not be stable enough to deal with people or just may need recharging. I'm one of those introverts (INFJ) who puts on a good show pretending like I'm extroverted when FORCED to interact, which makes people think I don't like them when I inevitably ghost them later via text. I hate it so much.

maybe these are true for the highly introverted peps, - cause i can relate only few of the mentioned things too but think i'm like a medium level introvert.. - you might be an ambivert?:-)

@@pocolocajuanita I agree with you. I was also doubting myself and then I realized, ok I might be an ambivert then. Anyway, the videos are fun to watch, and they help me understand super introverted peps better 😄

That’s so good! “I can’t hang out on Saturday because I’ve already mentally prepared myself to do nothing all weekend.” That’s me for almost every weekend👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻why can’t people just understand and accept it so that I don’t have to make up so many excuses. Making up excuses is also very tiring too!

Oh, hahaha. And, ouch! Two dear old friends are beating down a (digital) pathway to my doorstep (voicemail and texts and emails). And I feel panicked like a deer in the headlights 😂🤔

I love that all of my friends are other introverts or low-energy consuming (energy efficient?) extraverts. We get together two, maybe three times a year for several hours at a time, and then we don't talk to each other again unless some emergency happens.

"I'm only here because I forgot to cancel in time" - I feel personaly attacked right now
