For valo/roces I have to size up two sizes. For example my foot is 27cm US 9 and I wear a salomon st US 9 27cm. In valo/roces I have to wear a US 11 29.3cm. This goes to show that some skate brands are far off on their sizing. I used to always skate a size 6/7 razors shell with size 9 liners. I feel like sometimes they oversize the shell or undersize the liner. Just some food for thought

I have a 9 wide foot, I got a pair of Shift 2s in the 8-9 boot, the size 9 Reign liner feels way too tight. My SL Blacks feel better with the Reign liners but I had to cut the front and the sides of the liners open so my foot would fit in them I'm looking for new liners for both. Any advice?

Sweet! I think you’re gonna love them. Just be mindful of those insoles, lots of forward lean. If they ride weird for you at first, try swapping the insoles for the ones in your shoes and see if that helps.

I'm a bit confused by the USD Sway sizing, my foot is 26.035cm. They say add .5 cm to it, I'm assuming I wear 8-9 (26.1-26.8cm). The roses m12 I ordered before was 8 and was just a hair to small so I'm hoping these fit better.

Should i buy imperial 41-42 with 26.5 to 27.2cm lenght or there wont be enough room and should i get a size up, 43-44 with 27.8 to 28.5 cm when i measure my feet at 27.1 ? I do not know what to do since i can not try them. I have narrow feet so i wont have any problem with width. I read somewhere buy a size plus or let few mm in front for best fit. How many mm are considered ok ? So confused with Powerslide models, i am afraid double size.

Back to Blading No, I never have. Skates I stayed with the longest were some Genesys, or upsized RBs. Rode Xsjados for a while too, but I just didn't like the soul plate design, despite the comfort. Now I have some SL2s (the Yuris) cut to pieces on the inside to give me space and I just take them off every 30 minutes or so to get some pressure off of my feet. Nice thing about them being a skinned SL2 is that you can't see on the outside how much I have butchered on the inside.

Okay so I have 2 powerslide skates ... a 10,11 skate and a 12,13 skate. The smaller one fits snug, is hard to get on and off, and sometimes puts pressure/pain on the sides of my feet (i guess maybe too narrow), but the ankle support is nice. The bigger size feels like a sneaker so is a bit loose, doesn't give pain, but the angkle support is a bit too loose. My foot with no sock is 285mm and the skates are powerslide Next. What would you advise? Different liner? different brand? Thanks, love your channel, Manny

Typically the liner has the measurements you need. The shell is usually designed to fit multiple sizes. So if you're a 28cm foot, you'd be a size 10 liner, but in the USD Aeon you'd have the same skate shell as the size 9.

Hi there, I have a question about the Aeon sizing. My foot at its' longest is 24.3, and the Aeon 60 I tried are 22.9 - 24.2. They feel really tight and constricting (without the laces laced), the bottom area of the tongue literally pushes out of the liner, and I can lift my foot up without the boot slipping when without the laces or the buckle closed. My toes feel like it's pushing at the tip of the liner, though my toes are not crumpled up. Is that too tight? The next size up is 24.8 - 25.5, but I don't know if that's going to be too big. Could it be that the boot/liner just need to break in, or does it just sound too tight? Thanks.

  • @BacktoBlading

    @BacktoBlading

Unfortunately I think your feet are the wrong size for Aeons. You really don’t want to go to that bigger size, they’ll feel like boats. Maybe the USD Sway would be a better fit for you.

@@BacktoBlading Thanks for the feedback. I'm actually considering the Razor Shift now, but unsure about the sizing for me. Like I said, my largest foot is 243mm, and the smallest shift shell size 6/7 is 273mm, so that's a 3cm difference between the shell size and my foot. The 6 liner would be 240mm and the 7 liner is 250mm, so I'm almost in between the sizes. Do you think that would work for me, or is the 3cm difference between the shell length and foot length just too great and result in a sloppy fit once the liners break in? Thank you!

Short: Get to know the mondopoint list from your desired skate and use their chart for conclusion of sizing. Long story: It really depends. I have heard of some people downsizing even their ice hockey skates like three or more sizes. I am not quite sure how they actually do it without hurting their feet. But it depends on the size chart of the different brands. Like for Powerslide HC Evo Pro EU 46 the mondopoint is 296 while on Rollerblade Crossifre Carbon their EU46 mondopoint is 298mm. Almost every company is true to their size chart. But keep in mind that almost every skate company doesn't give numbers on their wideness, while some pricier ice hockey skates do (Bauer, CCM etc.).

I wear a size US 13(wide) shoe size and I did the foot against the wall measurement deal and according to the Rollerblade size chart I would have landed on size 12 rollerblades. I used to Rollerblade 25yrs ago and I remember using a 13. Since there's none in stores these day I blindly ordered from Dick's Sporting Goods with a $20 coupon. I went for size 14 Lightning Urban and they fit perfectly. No toe squash. The length isn't even the important measurement, it's the width of your foot in the front at the widest point. So my conclusion is go a size above if you have even remotely close to wide feet. US 13 Wide = 14 Rollerblade. Hell, I would go 14 even if you're a normal US 13 shoe and use the insert pads they include. Having cramped toes is the worst. So painful. P.S.- Wear wrist pads/gloves so when you wreck you don't scrape all skin off the palm of your hands like I did.

This is the reply I was looking for. I haven't rollerbladed since I was a teenager, but we have some great trails in my area, and I've been wanting to get back into it, but I'm having the hardest time sizing my feet. I did the feet against the wall thing and measured. My right foot is the biggest, and I'm coming up with 28.5 cm, exactly like that guy in the video, but he says he's in a size 10. I wear a size 13 wide shoe, like you, so I'm confused.

@@jameslackey8683 I bought Rollerblade Lighting 80s. I would rate a good entry skate. The only downside was the top cuff area on my right ankle got kind of ground up using my normal ankle socks. I bought some nice thick work boot calf socks and they've been fine since. For the actual fit my big toe is roughly 3/4" to 1" back from the front of the shell. My pinky toe hits right at the beginning of the shell curve where it narrows. I have wide feet and if the shell was even 3/4" shorter in length my pinky would be smashed into that boot shell outside curve area and I would have toe pain. My feet are wide even in wide men's 13 US skechers shoes, so I could actually use a slightly wider shell. As I've been breaking them in their feeling more comfy. If I went with the size chart on the Rollerblade site I'd be in a 12 and they would have gone back immediately. Even a 13 I believe I'd suffer a bit, although I did skate Rollerblade 13's in my teens. I think my feet are fatter and wider now. Good luck, brother! Make sure to buy some wrist protectors/gloves with plastic protector disc and elbow pads. I got to amped up and went full speed, fell, and destroy the palms of my hands on rough asphalt. Like ground beef. I got knee and elbow pads, and Rollerblade fingerless gloves with plastic protective disc on the palms since then and I've had about 5 hard falls and I barely felt them.

@@jameslackey8683 I typed a long reply, but it disappeared for some reason. What I said was in the Rollerblade Lighting 80s size 14 skates I bought my big toe is 3/4"-1" from the front of the shell. My pinky toe is right up against the side of the shell at the exact part it begins to curve. If the shell was even 3/4" shorter it would be squashed into that curved section and I'd be in pain. Although I wore Rollerblade size 13 as a teen, my feet seem to have gotten fatter and wider in my old age. If I had narrow feet I could probably do a 13, but not with my wide feet that are almost too wide for men's Skechers 13 Wide shoes. Rollerblade 11 or 12 would be a total no-go. Go for 13 or 14. They include a foot sizer insert pad that tightens the skates. I tried it and it was too tight even on a 14. Some random notes about the Lighting 80s: A good entry skate. The right ankle/boot cuff was gouging my skin so I had to get some calf length thick work boot socks that fixed the issue. I had moderate heel pain when I started doing longer skate sessions, so I bought a gel heel pad at Walmart. I might have gone with Lighting 90s for the bigger wheels if I was more proficient, but I haven't bladed for 20 years. After wrecking and turning the palms of my hands into ground beef I bought Rollerblade fingerless gloves with the protective plastic disc on the palms along with elbow and knee pads. When I start practicing parallel/power slide I'm going to get the hip and tailbone padded under shorts. Good luck, man!

Too verbose. You could have just said, if you normally wear UK 8, Skate shoe Size 9/ whatever will be ok. That's what I was looking.

It'd be a 11 then. It's okay to have skates that are a tad bigger than one that doesn't fit you at all. You'll be able to get a thicker aftermarket liner if it doesn't fit snugly.

Ok, I like it but enough people don't that I'll kill it. Thanks for the feedback.
