There is a province in China called Zhejiang, and there is a city in Zhejiang called Wenzhou. Although Wenzhou is not a big city, there are dozens of dialects, and about 10 of them are mutually incomprehensible. if you come here you will lose badly.

I like the idea of these videos, but I am always bored after a few minutes. It's almost like the conversations are all the same.... "Ahh yes, I also speak , it's a very good language, I like , I have friends that speak , I like to speak it with them, and want to travel there one day" Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz it's great you can speak all these languages, just wish you could have more interesting conversations.

Although your syntax and vocabulary is a little "robotic" for the lack of a better word, your Brazilian Portuguese accent is honestly impressive and very much on point. Always nice to see it pop up in your videos for that reason.

Wouter, I encourage you to learn Basque. That language is a major challenge even for someone with your great talent. Emil Krebs, who knew 68 languages and hundreds of dialects spoken around the world during his lifetime, complained Basque was quite difficult for him. Nevertheless, he did acquire this language, including five dialects and he wrote a newspaper article touted by native speakers. Since you already speak Spanish, Catalan and Portuguese, you won't have to worry about political abuse.

Euskara ez da hain zaila; mito bat da. Uste dut ez dudala hau esaten nire abertzaletasuna erasoturik sentitu dudalako, inondik ere. Pertsona helduei euskara irakasten lan egin izan dut. Zerotik hasiz, helburua da ikasturte batean A1-A2 mailara iristea. Denbora horretan, normalean ikasleek ulermen maila ona daukate, gai dira telebistako programetatik gehiena ulertu eta esaldi errazak esateko. Milaka gizon-emakumek ikasten dute euskara urtero. Jendeak euskarari zailtasun handia ikusten dio, ez delako familia indoeuroparrekoa. Hala ere, hiztegiaren parte handi bat erromantze hizkuntzena dauka, oso ehuneko altuan. Morfosintaxia, berezia edo diferentea iruditu arren, nahiko erregularra eta logikoa da. Ez du gaztelaniak bezalako aditz-flexio irregularrik (ir, voy, fui, etc). Sistema fonetikoa, adibidez frantsesak edo germanikoek baino sinpleagoa dauka. Ortografian ere, oro har ahoskatzen den bezala idazten da....

It's a feat to know words of that language out of thousands that exist already. Though I'd admit that knowing a few phrases for more spoken languages shouldn't be counted as speaking it.
